Chapter Thirty-Three:
'I'm really sorry.'
That was Haimon's words and it keeps echoing through my ears and my mind as if his words keep lurking around me as if he was just there beside me. Even though it's been week since I left our house and chose to stay at my house when I was still single. It was at the second floor of our shop that's why I could easily go to my work if I want to but because of the incident happened with us, me and my husband. I don't feel like working so I just stay at home and I'm very grateful because my friends haven't asked me why I left our house.
They just let me stay at my house in peace and didn't force to explain further that I really appreciate. Now that I'm all alone, I think of our situation. Still, I keep ending of asking who is Siara? Why was he just so protective of that woman and he couldn't tell me who she really was? It really puzzles me but what should I do if the person that knows the answer wouldn't want to let me know.
I hate to admit it but I'm too jealous and angry over that woman, whoever she was! Because the man that I love the most protects some woman that I don't even know. Now I couldn't help but to ask myself, does he really love me? Does he even care for me? I repeatedly asking myself but I couldn't find any answer. And it makes me cry, a thousand tears to be exacts. Making my eyes swollen every morning I wake up and my friends even notice it.
"Your eyes are swollen again." Alena commented to me when she visited me. "Why don't you talk to him?" she seriously added and this is the first time she mentions 'him' and I know who she referring to.
"If he wanted to fix everything, then he'll be the first one to approach me not the other way around." I said and it was the truth, it's been a week since I came here and still, he didn't show himself or even call or text me. And it frustrates me more, yet I couldn't do anything! "And it seems I will wait for him longer enough to get tired in the end." My figurative statement.
"What do you mean?" Alena asked me clueless.
I smile at her. "It's nothing." As I shakes my head before I take a deep breath. "So, aren't you busy today?" I immediately changed our topic.
"Busy as ever." She replied. "And I gave it all to Dealla since she's gone out for a vacation-business." She sarcastically added that makes me laugh.
"Are you cursing me?" it's Dealla who suddenly came out without us noticing it. "Good morning, Shuki!" she greeted me with a bright smile before turning her gaze to Alena. "And you! You should come to me! We had lots of things to do at the shop!" she ordered that I simply smile.
"Ahh! I really hate you!"
"Yeah! Yeah!" Dealla replied as she waves her hand in the air. "Alright, let's go down now! and you, my dearest friend Shuki, please! Don't imprison yourself in here, try to get some fresh air or find something that will appease your mind and soul, okay?"
I smile at her. "Yeah! Yeah!" I said as I copy what she did earlier. "I'll do as you said."
After a while…
A sudden call breaks my silence and I didn't expect to receive that call.
"Are you alright?" he asked me after I answered his call.
"Uhm, I'm fine." I replied as I nod. "Anyway, why you suddenly call me Mr. Reinhardt?"
Kanik suddenly laughs that surprised me. "Oh, sorry if I laugh but your too formal again." he said. "But well, I couldn't blame you. Anyway, you can call me Kanik. Because I think that would be much better rather than, 'Mr. Reinhardt'. Am I right?"
"Well… if that is what you want." I replied. "Then, Ka-kanik…" I said it with a doubt but it seems he enjoys it.
"Ow! Wow! That's a good start!" he happily replied. "Anyway, I don't think you were really fine! So, why don't we go for a… relaxation? And I hope you don't mind?"
I don't know but there's something in his voice that attracts me to come with him even though I don't like to come out, still I couldn't let down his offer. I take a deep breath before I answered. "Alright, where do we need to meet?" I asked that he gladly answered.
District Library
I don't know why Kanik chooses to meet at this place though for some reason, I feel at ease as the quietness of the whole place surrounds us and I couldn't even imagine that this place would be a great place to mend a heart.
"I knew you'll going to love this place." Suddenly Kanik speaks to me that made me to gaze at him.
"Yes, I love this place." I honestly replied. "But, how did you know that I'm going to love this place?"
"Well, I just thought so." He said and shrugs off. "Anyway, what can we read here?" he said as he searches the book shelves.
"Uhm, something about… the Vampires…" I suddenly spill out that made him to look back at me.
"What!" I nodded. "Oh, well… are you sure you wanted to know something about… 'us'?"
"Yes. And…" I paused because I couldn't say the name that will give me a bitter taste once I speak of her name.
"You wanted to know who 'she' is in the life of Haimon, right?" he said without mentioning her name.
I smile at him. "…thanks."
"Don't." he replied as he walks back and sits opposite to me. "He won't tell you right?" I silently nodded as my tears starts to build up. "Then, you should trust us now, Shu. That's the only way to find out the whole truth."
