Death Race For Love

There were thirty-two men holding blades and bats around me, ready to assault the person who loved their boss's daughter under his command.

However, that didn't matter as the words "Getting married next week" kept replaying in my mind.

Unlike before when I used to text Lexi, my hands found themselves holding my phone, trying to call her.

The phone just rang and rang, as she kept not picking it up because of how busy she was.

Beep...!

I called again.

Beep...!

"Yeah, I've been calling for you. I'm calling for you," My heart said.

Then, something happened in only seconds, but it felt like years to me. However, a wake-up call was sent to my back.

Wham...!

I felt intense pain in my back, but it didn't compare to the pain of knowing that my crush was getting married in a week's time.

I recognized that responsibility lay with me for failing to communicate my emotions, as I have long been accustomed to resolving my own issues independently since childhood.

Putting everything aside, I gritted my teeth and punched the man who hit me in his ugly face.

Wham...!

Blood trickled down his nose, as he seemed to have endured the force from the punch with his raw strength. That being said, my fingers poked into the weakest part of his eyes.

"Ahhhh!" he screamed in pain, as he couldn't endure being blind.

In that very moment, a red-haired man tried to thrust his knife into my gut, but I swiftly sidestepped and took the head of the blinded man, before sending him into the red-haired gangster.

Pwaa...!

The two men clashed into the bottles of champagne in the club, and their blood added a shade of red to the liquids on the ground.

"Don't just stare at him! I want him dead as soon as yesterday!"

Hearing the yell from the man who was enjoying liquor like a boss, I felt frustrated by the fact that I loved his daughter.

Yet, I couldn't help but love her more with each passing second.

I let out a loud battle cry before my feet found themselves kicking two bats aiming for my head.

Crack...!

The bats broke apart, and my left leg, which was in the air, immediately performed an in-out kick, destroying the wielders' faces and leaving them falling to the ground.

Bam...! Swish...!

I felt blades rushing towards my esophagus, and I immediately ducked down, spinning my leg around to knock down the three men that had surrounded me.

Thud...!

The strongest of the group used this chance to swing his bat at my head, but I turned the edges of my locks into flames, hard to notice with the naked eye.

I was able to perform all this thanks to the gangster's sumo wrestler body built.

The moment his bat ignited, I took the chance to strike his sensitive area, making him toss the bat into the broken alcohol glasses on the ground.

"That's nice thinking, Taku!" Axel screamed in joy as he ran out of the club, leaving the flames spreading over the whole place.

The men he brought all decided to commit suicide rather than waste their time, leaving me alone at the center of the club.

This happened too fast for a normal person to understand, but for someone like me, I was already thinking about my next move.

"Hahaha!" A broken-hearted chuckle left my lips.

My body slowly turned into flames, with my left hand holding my phone, searching for Lexi's location through the alien satellites around our globe.

I found myself screaming, "I love Lexi Kronos! Wait for me, and we will be together forever! I am going to take you to a place where we are going to be alone!"

My face instantly cringed as I realized how stupid I was getting because of love.

I quickly became one with the flames that were burning the club and turned myself into a pigeon, becoming a firebird.

Lexi was in Washington, D.C., with her fiance, and I was in Nice, trying to find a way to her location.

I shot myself into the sky and started circling around, trying to find a straight way to the capital city of the United States of America.

Bang...!

The moment I found it, I shot myself like a rocket in that direction, hoping to be true to myself for once.

To those who saw me on the ground, they mistook me for an alien creature sent to navigate the territories of Earth.

That was confirmed by the cannons that followed behind my trail, like little angels from heaven chasing after the devil.

Even so, thanks to the small explosion that took place behind me, I happened to be the faster one, and the cannons got lost somewhere in the ocean.

Twenty-five minutes was all it took for me to arrive at the doorway to Lexi's bedroom after bypassing all the security in her mansion.

It was half-past five in Washington DC, but I had left Nice at eleven pm, which is why I felt a little dizzy as it was close to my bedtime.

Knock, knock, knock...

Upon hearing my knock, Lexi immediately opened her door with a smile, which was quickly replaced by a frown when she saw that I was not her fiancé.

Before her flustered face could utter a word, I did what I had seen in over a hundred movies and videos.

Yes, I kissed her.

And that's when I learned a very important lesson in life: movies are all lies, especially p**n videos.

Lexi immediately pulled away from my lips and slapped me fiercely, telling me that she wasn't interested in me at all.

...

I smiled as I looked at Hein's face, which still wanted to confirm which part of the story was a lie or not.

"That is how I started a relationship with my deceased wife," I interlocked my fingers and rested my chin on them. "You asked about my wife, so the other things didn't matter."

Hein maintained his indifferent expression and said, "I guess it's only right for me to tell you my life story too."

I don't care.
