Or were they just insanely powerful abilities?

Even with the limited amount of discovered gifts in the tower, there were several that supported each suspicion.

Perhaps it was even both.

Mia's gifts.

Weapon Genius and Memory Absorption.

The former made one talented in the art of wielding any weapons, while the latter allowed one to take another's memory after they had died.

Heaven-given gifts.

Powerful abilities.

Mia's two gifts could be said to evenly belong to both.

Weapon Genius could be regarded as a heaven-given gift, and Memory Absorption as a very powerful ability.

Regardless of what they really were, their power was undeniable.
