When his best friend dies , Crown Prince Wen Mingye risks going extra in mourning his friend by mourning in public and wearing the Mask of Mourning which is a taboo in the Southern Blossom Dynasty. As a result Wen Mingye is stripped off his Crown Prince title and his younger brother Wen Hai is promoted to replace him. When the time for the Crown Prince to start his study comes ,a number of sons and daughters from noble families together with his Royal siblings are chosen to be his study buddies. Mizi Yue ,a polymath scholar enters the Imperial Palace as one of the Crown Prince's teachers. While publicly paying attention to the Crown Prince and a number of other female students,Mizi Yue secrets pays attention and displays affection to Wen Mingye as his love interest. After a few encounters of interaction,the feeling slowly starts becoming mutual but neither of them dares to acknowledge this newly developed bond between them encapsulated by a special feeling. In a judgemental society like the Southern Blossom Dynasty ,they can only leave their feelings a concealed  and unspoken concept. <p>The Blooming Celebration was the grandest festival in the Southern Blossom Dynasty where people enjoyed the first drink of the new season's  nectar and the blooming of flowers during the night of spring equinox. The celebration was conducted  by a number of religious leaders led by the Minister of Rites Feihong Jiao and the Emperor and Consort Huan being the guests of honor. The  festival was usually held at night and complimented by the lit lanterns.</p>
