Part 6

"I care. It's natural for fellow humans to care, right?" Noah answered.

"Okay. Reasonable. That's it. I'll explain. In the first place, I intended for that woman to be afraid of me and not mess with me. How was that? You went to her to calm her down, right? She's scared already?"

Noah shook his head. "That's not important. What's important is, why did you make her your wife? Put a ring on it right away? Do you have a brain problem? Need me to check?" Noah retorted, making Grey roll his eyes lazily.

"No need. My brain is fine. I don't want to make her my wife either. However, I don't want to bother looking for another woman. She lives here too. So, I chose her. Take it easy. I don't like her. Think of it as a contract marriage."

Noah frowned. "Contract marriage?"

Grey nodded. "I've also prepared a paper agreement. I married her so that my father wouldn't keep forcing me to get married. Take it easy. I won't restrain her. It's just a fake status. She's still free."

"It's fine if she wants to date anyone, not do her duties as a wife, and when she meets her family and wants to return with her family later, that's fine too. However, as long as she doesn't have a home and lives here, she has to be my wife."

Grey then smiled, raising one eyebrow. "So, if you really want to date, even marry Athena, that's fine. It's just that to get married, wait until I get a replacement for that troublesome woman. Okay?"

"W—who would want to date her? You can't talk nonsense," Noah retorted immediately and Grey chuckled. "Okay. What was the reason you kissed her?" Noah asked seriously.

Grey smiled. However, it was clearly not a friendly smile. "Because someone wants to see it."

Noah was confused. "What do you mean?"

"You'll find out. That person will show up on their own."

Hearing that, Noah became even more confused. "I mean-"

"Never mind. I'm going to meet that troublesome woman," Grey interrupted.

Grey then stood up from his place. Before he left the room, Noah was already standing in front of Grey. "Wait, what are you going to do to Athena?" asked Noah warily.

"Meeting with my new wife to talk about this." Grey held up the paper agreement during their contract marriage that Grey had drawn up. "My marital status and that troublesome wife."

***

"Okay. Athena. No. Not Athena. Athena is the name that damn man gave me. Whoever I am, I need to get the hell out of here. I'll just break through. At least I've tried even if I die out there instead of dying in this house silly."

Athena muttered to herself as she looked at the glass. Athena had finally gathered her resolve to leave this house. Athena will try to find a new life out there, better than here- Athena thought.

Athena looked at the ring still on her ring finger and snickered sarcastically. "If this damn ring can't be taken off, no problem. I can sell it at the ring shop. It must be expensive. They'll have a way to get this shitty ring off my finger."

Athena then wandered around, preparing to run away from this house. Athena didn't bring anything with her because she just woke up from the alley, having nothing and remembering nothing.

Athena then walked out of her room, looking around for the exit because Grey's house was very spacious. When there was an elevator nearby, Athena chose to take the elevator to shorten the time.

However, Athena was shocked when suddenly her body was pulled away, an arm was held around her neck and a hand was used to place a gun next to her head. Athena would have screamed had her mouth not been covered.

"Shut up. Shut your mouth if you don't want today to be your last day. Don't scream," threatened the man who was covering her mouth.

Athena was scared. Athena just nodded a few times and the man removed his hand from her mouth. "Who are you? Why are you doing this to me? What do you want?"

The man gave a small chuckle-a sly chuckle. "To destroy Grey."

"G-Grey? Then, what does that have to do with me?" asked Athena both scared and confused.

"Blame yourself for being unlucky that Grey likes you. Now you have to face the problem because of it. I will use you to destroy Grey, then get what I want."

Athena was certainly getting confused. "I think you misunderstood. I-emh!"

"Shut up!" Athena almost shouted if her mouth wasn't closed again when the man pressed his gun. "You must follow me. Keep quiet or you will die. Understood?" he said and Athena nodded in fear again.

The man then pressed the elevator button, preparing to leave, kidnapping Athena, threatening Grey.

"Stop!"

"Athena!"

Athena and the man turned around. Athena smiled with relief to see Noah who was looking at her worriedly. It turned out that there was also Grey. Before long, some guards also came because they heard Grey and Noah's screams.

Noah furrowed his brow. "James, is that you?" he asked. James is one of the guards here. James is one of the confidants here.

Grey immediately pointed his gun at the already terrified James. "I suggest surrendering immediately. I can still give you some mercy. Maybe you can still live, even if I hurt you. It's better than dying right away, right?" Grey threatened, making James even more afraid because he knew Grey's threat was not just empty talk.

Athena who heard it was also scared. Grey was truly a ruthless mafia

"You don't mess with me! If you mess with me, I'll shoot this woman you love!" threatened James.

Grey smiled sarcastically. "How do you know she's the woman I love?"

"You don't have to lie! I heard that when you guys were talking in the park!"

"James! Are you out of your mind?! Let go, Athena! What are you doing this for?!" snapped Noah.

"Don't ask so many questions, Noah. You already know why he did this to Athena. It's obvious this cowardly man wants to threaten us," Grey said to Noah, before Grey looked back at James. "James, James. You think I'm stupid? You think I don't know that Robert's stupid spy is here? Obviously, you are his spy. Aren't you? You are one of Robert's slaves," Grey said to Noah's surprise. James too - surprised how Grey could know.

"James is Robert's spy?" asked Noah incredulously. Noah had spent a lot of time with James.

"Yes. I had already begun to suspect that when I went out for a walk, Robert's men suddenly knew where I was and attacked me until I met that troublesome woman. At that time, I only told you and James my location because James was the guard I trusted the most. I felt that someone leaked it and of course I wouldn't believe you did it and I suspected James."

"Then I deliberately pulled Athena into the garden. I saw James secretly listening to our conversation. Then, I saw James following and listening to all my conversations with Athena. Finally, I told him all that to make him believe I loved Athena and he would definitely target Athena. I was right. You're too careless. Robert's men are as stupid as their master."

"Bastard! You can't insult Master Robert!" James' anger instantly scared Athena even more as James tightened his arms around Athena's neck.

Even Noah was worried. "J-James, we can talk nicely. Put the gun down first. Don't hurt Athena."

"Shit! I don't care! If I die, I have to take this woman too! Tell your friend to put the gun down or I'll shoot her!"

"Then shoot her. You think I care about her? I only care about you. I just want to catch you. Fool," Grey said casually, taking Athena and Noah by surprise.
