Broken Promises

Weisheng and the Arbiter sat together in the Arbiter's Hall, passing judgment upon the spirits that came their way. After finishing most of their work and sealing the spirits' memories in scrolls, they sat down for tea while writing reports. 

The Arbiter preferred alcohol over tea, but Weisheng didn't let him have alcohol often. 

"I told her about someone being after her," Weisheng casually dropped the bomb while drinking tea and writing reports. 

The Arbiter's eyes widened. His brush stopped in its tracks, "How could you-" 

"I didn't tell her about our youngest, don't worry," Weisheng murmured, "She wouldn't let my subordinate tail her otherwise, so I had to tell her." 

The Arbiter looked down in concern, "But if Ling'er remembers her past because of this…"
