Chapter 13

After the story was finished, the monkey spoke earnestly, "Class monitor, do you believe it now? How do you feel?"

Summer Mu: "It's quite shocking."

Monkey: "Yes, it's so gloomy."

Summer Mu: "No, why do I sound so passionate? So that's what 'business warfare' looks like."

Monkey: "Ah."

Summer Mu: "I suddenly remembered an ancient saying: 'Soldiers are cunning.' Now I understand that business is the same, just need a 'cunning' character, which is interesting. Tell me more about him."

Monkey: "Don't... why do I feel like I'm leading bad kids? This is not my intention."

——

In the early morning, the sky was bright and the air was still cold. Summer Mu was wearing sportswear and running in the morning mist.

Since her mother passed away due to illness, exercising every day and maintaining good physical fitness had become her habit.

Not far from home, there was a sports field and not far from the supermarket. She came here every day. At this moment, the fog dissipated and some people scattered on the playground. She ran alone, panting and laughing.

But she didn't expect to meet Meng here.

There were some fitness equipment on the sidelines. As she ran closer, she saw a man wearing a gray T-shirt and black sports shorts, lifting an arm strength device. The silhouette was very broad, sturdy, and upright, with a familiar look.

Then she saw Meng turn around and bump into her.

Summer Mu paused in surprise and said, "Mr. Meng."

Meng's T-shirt was soaked through, and his broad and plump forehead was also covered in sweat. His eyebrows and eyes were heavy and bright, with a hidden smile: "Good morning, little girl."

Summer Mu: "Good morning! Why are you also here to exercise?"

Meng smiled slightly and said, "What, only you little girls are allowed to come, can't I? Recently, there have been too many social engagements and too little exercise, and my body also needs to catch its breath."

"Of course, of course! Exercise is the best, Mr. Meng is wise."

Meng smiled again.

Summer Mu was not someone who was good at dealing with leaders. Seeing that Meng didn't speak or let her go, she tentatively asked, "Mr. Meng... do you think there's anything else I need to do?"

Meng was really amused by her small appearance this time. He held onto the fitness equipment and chuckled low and hearty, "Alright, Summer Mu, here we are not superiors or subordinates, just ordinary friends. I didn't and shouldn't have instructed you to do anything. Go for a run quickly."

Summer Mu's heart was instantly softened by the sudden word 'friend'. Her mind was buzzing with excitement, and her footsteps seemed to become a bit unsteady.

"Ah, okay, thank you, Mr. Meng. "She ran away with a slight blush on her cheek.

After running around, she heard steady and powerful footsteps behind her. As soon as Summer Mu turned around, she saw Meng also running up.

A man in his thirties was at his most mature and robust. Moreover, Meng had a background in manual labor in supermarkets. Under the rising sun, the man's figure became increasingly slender and sturdy, and every movement was powerful. But compared to young men in their early twenties, there seemed to be a few more distinct flavors.

Summer Mu withdrew her gaze and instinctively flashed inward, making way for him. He approached, and the heat from his body seemed to be soaking into hers.

"Running so slowly, huh? "He whispered.

Summer Mu smiled and whispered, "I dare not be faster than the boss."

He laughed again, and the sharp lines of his profile softened instantly, running past her and towards the front.

After ten laps.

Summer Mu sat down on the stone steps by the playground. After resting for a while, Meng came jogging over and stopped, sitting down next to her.

Summer Mu felt a bit uneasy, but still had a nonchalant smile on her face.

But unexpectedly, Meng started talking to her about work.

"How did you adapt in the marketing department? "He asked.

The two of them sat side by side, and even Summer Mu could smell the smoke and sweat on his body, intertwined with the scent of green grass next to the playground. The sunlight shone on both of them at the same time, which was a strange feeling, as if they had become familiar with each other, without the distance of identity disparity that they used to have.
