Chapter 12: Red Eyes

Alexander awoke the next day to find Inara perched on a chair, staring at nothing in particular yet completely engaged in it.

"You're awake," she whispered, after realizing that he was awake, "I don't want to go back there, he's scary, and he hates me," Inara murmured, cruelly biting her bottom lip.

"Young Master, there's an urgent matter you needs to attend to," a startling voice resonates in the room; Alexander already knew the individual, "Be straight forward,"

"Your father wants you to be at the palace, I already made it known you're busy, but he insisted," Forest said, "I'll be there shortly, "Alright, Young Master,"

"Can I go there with you?" Inara said gently, gazing up at him for a response, "You aren't supposed to be there, but since you want to, you can follow me," Alexander concluded, and Inara smiled faintly before standing on her feet.

—------

King Gael was taken aback when he saw Inara with Alexander, despite his best efforts to conceal his surprise. They immediately approached him and greeted him, "Good morning, Father,"

"What's she doing here?" King Gael yelled, "She has every right to be here because she's my wife," Alexander responded in a red tone. Inara looked at him with surprise; she hadn't expected him to reveal the secret in front of his father.

"You're what? When did you both get married?" Basil inquired aggressively, staring at Inara, who quickly she shifted her sight to the floor, "You're involved with Suzyo, and your brother's interested in her. So, he's marrying her,"

"But, I'm his wife already, and I cannot marry him," Inara said in an angry tone, and King Gael scoffed lightly before stating ominously, "Then he'll marry her as his second wife. Even though she's the second wife, her privileges would be very different from yours, because she's what this Empire wants, not a demoted princess like you,"

Inara remained completely speechless; her identity as a princess affected her deeply, and she couldn't help but keep back the tears that welled up in her eyes.

"You cannot reject this marriage, or I'll disown you!" King Gael proclaimed, and Basil's face brightened up with smile.

Unable to hold back her grief and sadness, Inara raced out of the palace, and Alexander followed her.

—-----

"Wifey, wait up!" Alexander beckoned her from behind, but she didn't respond. He quickly caught up to her, and Inara unwillingly came to a halt.

"We really cannot be together; perhaps you should marry her instead. She performs far better than I do, "Why are you pushing me into marrying her?"

"Because that is the best option, I do not deserve to be your wife! Please don't follow me around; I don't want to be harmed seeing you. I hate you, Young Master!" Inara murmured in tears and dashed away faster than normal.

Alexander dropped on his knees, his fangs appeared, and he clutched his fist, badly hurting himself, "Make this stop!" his words resonated poisonously in the air.

—-----

Yivanne had been crying incessantly since she learned about Inara's absence, and she wondered why horrible things kept happening to her.

"You should stop crying, she'll be found soon," Forest said to her, but she shook her head negatively, "No, that is false hope; my lady will not return to me. I'm so terrified, Forest; why do horrible things keep happening to her?" she sobbed, and Forest couldn't find the right words of comfort for her. He remained silent, but he was profoundly upset.

—-----

Inara opened her eyes and saw herself at a quiet location. When she opened her eyes, she saw Basil smiling devilishly at her, "Welcome, little brother's wife,"

"What exactly did you want from me? My husband will not take it lightly with you if he finds out," Inara blurted out pluckily, even though she knew she had said some nasty things to him before they left. She wanted he could come save her.

"Really? You plainly stated to him that you approved he may marry her. Do you believe he'd come for you?" Basil smirked, and Inara's face was filled with anguish as she replayed the incident in her mind.

"Yes, he will because I know he won't abandon me even though I rejected him," she spat, Basil crouching at her level, smirking, "Perhaps you don't know enough about my little brother; let me tell him one thing about him, he doesn't care about anyone.

Even if you're willing to die for him, he's never mourned a death before. Your blood would be a waste for him. I can see the innocence in your eyes, which means you're still intact; wouldn't it be nice if I made you sin here?"

"You have no shame at all, I'm your brother's wife!" Inara cried in sobs, "I intended to take your virginity, after you became pregnant with my child, he would surely forget about you," he scoffed, and he began thrilling his fingers over her body.

"Please don't, you cannot do this to me!" Inara cried, attempting to escape herself from his assault.

—-----

"Why do you appear so angry? Did something happen?" the man inquired, "Who are you?" Alexander asked, surprised to see him standing in front of him.

"My identity doesn't matter, do you want to rescue her?" the man inquired, and Alexander frowned angrily, "I don't want to, why are you asking me such a question?"

"Because I know you wanted to save her nevertheless, your demon also wants the same,"

"You seem to know about me, what else do you know?"

"I am just like you, so I am sure I know. You are a demon that has yet to gain demonic power, but I can teach you how to find her. Her scent is undetectable since she is a human; you must be in your demon form to get her scent and rescue her," the man added.

"I do not morph willingly unless my demon want to. It only happens when I need blood, "You have always been the one transforming by your own will, my son," the man said. Alexander gave him a puzzled look.

—------

As Basil prepared to begin undressing Inara, a muscular hold held his hand firmly in the air. Inara looked up and saw the person she had been waiting for, "Alexander?" she whispered softly.

Basil, on the other hand, was taken aback when he realized who the person was, as he was startled that no one knew where he was, "How come you are here?" he muttered.

Alexander slammed him on his feet, seriously injuring him, before throwing him to the floor,

Inara was stunned to see him doing this. Basil fled out of sight after getting the strength to stand up.

Alexander approached Inara and attempted to unbid her, but she hugged him with her free hands over his waist instead, "Thank you for saving me, I thought you wouldn't come," she muttered. Alexander was avoiding letting her see his eyes, but after she detached from the hug, which he did not reciprocate, she wanted to look at him.

"Alexander, you are acting weirdly. Are you okay?" she inquired in a concerned tone, perhaps she should not have asked; his eyes met hers coldly.

At the same time, she spotted a hint of red in his crimson eyes!

"Do not worry me this too much, wifey. I'm not going to take it lightly next time," he said thunderously. Inara was perplexed; had she actually seen his eyes become red, or was it simply her imagination?
