Cassarae was caught between two conflicting emotions. 

On the one hand, she was pissed. Sylas shouldn't have done something like this without even speaking to her. Although she was smart enough to realize that that was the point—by catching her off guard, he would certainly catch Gregory off guard—ultimately, it was definitely crossing over a line. 

But on the other hand… 

Damn, that was satisfying. 

This asshole had been giving her nothing but trouble for months on end. At first, he had started off as a minor annoyance until he began to worm his way into every facet of her life. 

It was getting to the point where she spent more time managing the internal structures of her city than actually expanding and capitalizing on their strengths. 

The fact they were back in the top ten at all was a miracle. Though, the funding that her father and Sylas were able to provide were an enormous part of that.
