Chapter 579: Strange Time Node and the Imperius Curse

Andy didn't hear Dumbledore's conversation with the Ministry staff; even if he had, he wouldn't have cared much.

Just as Dumbledore had said, what Andy cared about most was the power of magic.

As for what other people thought of him... Andy cared due to having a family and girlfriend but otherwise was indifferent.

After all, everyone pursued different dreams.

And the so-called acquisition of fame was just a passing whim of Andy's.

From the pocket he had charmed with an undetectable extension charm, Andy took out the house elf and held out his hand, saying in a light tone, "Let's go!"

With a light sound, Andy disappeared instantly.

The ninth level of the Ministry of Magic.

Andy put the house elf away, walked through the simple corridor, pushed open the black door, and entered the round room of the Department of Mysteries.

This was the second time Andy had been here today, but his mood was completely different.

When he came here with Harry before, Andy knew exactly what to do next, so he felt no butterflies in his stomach. Apart from a little excitement about the battle to come, Andy was bored the whole time.

But this time, every cell in Andy's body was tingling with excitement.

The mystery of magic!

It was the most exciting thing of all!

Standing in the middle of the round room, Andy was a little hesitant at the moment.

Because according to the plan, Andy was planning to leave a little hint—even if it was just a little one—for his past self.

This is not just about giving his past self the script.

It is also a way of testing time travel!

Before he came to the Ministry of Magic, Andy had already made this decision.

But...

There is no clue at all!

Before the time travel, Andy had always been curious about what his future self had encountered. Why hadn't he left a clue as planned?

Had something gone wrong?

But Andy suddenly realised after going back in time that there had been no mishaps at all.

Not only there was no accident, but it could even be said that everything went exceptionally smoothly.

This is a bit strange!

According to the plan, Andy should have left a clue.

But Andy didn't dare!

Because leaving a clue means disrupting history.

Countless histories have proven one point: using a Time Turner to change the past will get you killed.

But why?

There must be a reason for everything, right?

At this very moment, Andy is at the point in time where he should have left a clue.

This is what Andy should be doing at this very moment!

And there is absolutely no reason for Andy at this very moment not to leave a clue, apart from the fact it would change history.

'Why is this happening?'

Andy felt utterly baffled.

This had happened twice now.

The last time was in Azkaban.

On that occasion, the past Andy and the future Andy interacted with each other—the past Andy knew where the door was because of the future Andy. As for the future Andy... it was because he had seen the door in the past.

It's the same this time!

The past Andy didn't see the clue.

So the present Andy couldn't leave any clues.

Other than that, there was no good reason!

"..."

Andy was silent for a good while.

'If... if I leave a clue now, what will happen next?'

Andy thought deeply, 'Will I die? Or will I never be able to return to the previous timeline?'

'Maybe... I should leave a hint and see what happens next.'

'If nothing happens, I'll simply get rid of the hint...'

"No!"

Andy quickly rejected this plan.

Once Andy had such an idea, it would definitely become a reality.

Getting rid of the hint...

Then nothing would change!

At this moment, Andy's emotions were fluctuating wildly.

Why?

"..."

There was another moment of silence.

After a brief silence, Andy suddenly had an idea.

Maybe... I should go to the Time Room.

If there was a place in the world where the secrets of time were hidden, it must be the Department of Mysteries' Time Room.

Only there!

Without further hesitation, Andy quickly pushed open a black door.

The doors in the circular room are not permanently set in place. When you walk through a black door, the walls of the room will spin rapidly, making it hard to tell which door you entered through.

It is a room the size of half a football field.

The room has a square shape with a sunken centre, creating a huge depression. Stone steps surround the entire room, like stone stairs, gradually descending level after level, each level very steep.

In the centre of the depression is a raised stone platform with an archway covered by a black curtain.

The temperature here is also chilly.

'The Death Chamber... Looks like I'm in luck.'

Andy flew into the air and landed in front of the stone platform.

Buzz…

From where he stood, Andy could clearly hear someone talking behind the curtain—he couldn't make out what they were saying, but it was definitely the sound of someone talking.

Andy listened carefully for a while longer.

But he still couldn't catch what was being said.

Without wasting any more time, this time, Andy decided to reach out and touch the arch.

As for lifting the curtain... Andy doesn't want to die just yet!

Back in the mysterious room in Azkaban, if Andy hadn't lowered the black cloth in time, the consequences would have been truly unpredictable.

The cold chill behind the curtain can't harm Andy now. But the power behind the curtain can affect Andy's will, making him lose all positive emotions.

That mirror was enough of a challenge for Andy.

The power here is far greater than that of the mirror!

Andy plans to fill up [Constitution] and [Will] attributes a bit first, then have a peek at the mysteries of the dimension of death through the mirror.

As for here...

It is no longer as attractive to Andy as before!

Taking out his wand, Andy took a deep breath and carefully touched the arch.

Nothing happened!

This slightly reassured Andy.

Once again, he held the wand against the arch, slowly channelling his magic, ready to test the world behind the curtain with his magic.

A cold breath blew through the air.

Fortunately, this power did not affect Andy.

The voices became clearer.

But Andy still couldn't discern what they were saying.

It felt a little strange.

It was as if two people were speaking in front of you, in a language you knew well, and you could hear them clearly, but you just couldn't make out what they were saying.

'Magic interference?' Andy guessed.

Slowly, Andy once again felt the power that influenced his emotions.

However, this time, what Andy felt was completely different from the previous time.

Before, Andy felt it with his body.

This time, Andy used magic to sense it.

To be honest, Andy felt a little comfortable.

It was as if a force was gently massaging Andy's soul through his magic.

The force was warm and comforting, and it was hard not to get lost in it and drift off to sleep.

Andy's soul basked in the warmth.

But Andy's body was cold to the core.

Andy knew what this feeling was.

The Imperius Curse!

This feeling was exactly the same as when he was under the Imperius Curse!
