Lestrange Manor.
Voldemort sat at the head of the long table with a glum expression, his gaze sweeping over the Death Eaters at the table, all of whom had their own agendas.
There was no doubt that Voldemort's control over the Death Eaters had reached an all-time low after several failures.
With the exception of a few, most of the Death Eaters were seeking an escape route. If they weren't afraid of Voldemort's power and the Dark Mark, they would have quit long ago.
You can't just quit being a Death Eater with a letter of resignation.
What's more, they weren't sure what the Ministry of Magic's attitude would be.
Many of them already appeared on the Ministry's list.
If the Ministry decided to settle scores, the crimes they had committed would be enough to send them to Azkaban for the rest of their lives.
"I'm glad..."
Voldemort's gaze swept over the group. "To see you here, my friends."
The group bowed their heads in silence.
"Yes, Dumbledore is indeed still powerful... I must admit that."
Voldemort continued, "But I already know the secret of his power!"
"The Elder Wand...one of the three legendary Deathly Hallows. This wand gave Dumbledore great power, and it was with it that he was able to defeat me."
Barty Crouch Jr. exclaimed in surprise, "The Elder Wand? Could it be that the rumours of the Deathly Hallows are true?"
"Yes!"
Voldemort affirmed this and looked at Snape. "Severus... tell us!"
Snape nodded slightly and explained slowly, "I have stayed undercover at Hogwarts for many years, investigating Dumbledore's secrets."
"At first I thought that his current power was due to his high-level knowledge of magic, but after much investigation, I discovered that there was something special about his wand."
"It's a very powerful wand!"
"Elder wand, Resurrection Stone, Invisibility Cloak... As far as I know, the Resurrection Stone is in Andy Collins' hands, and he has been investigating news of the Deathly Hallows."
"Last school year, Andy Collins also experimented with the Invisibility Cloak... My lord, Collins used the Invisibility Cloak to break the curse you had placed on the Defence Against the Dark Arts class."
Barty Crouch Jr. was shocked. "The Cloak can break curses?"
"It seems so."
Snape said. "According to Collins, the Cloak's real power is to avoid curses... just like the youngest of the Three Brothers, who used the Cloak to avoid Death's curse."
The Tales of Beedle the Bard were well-known bedtime stories in the wizarding world. Everyone in the room had heard the story except the orphans.
Now, on hearing Snape's words, they quickly thought of a well-known legend.
The legend claimed that whoever possessed all the Deathly Hallows could become the master of Death.
If the Deathly Hallows really existed, then what about this legend?
Was this legend also true?
Thinking about this, everyone's hearts burnt with excitement.
"It is rumoured that Dumbledore also searched for the Deathly Hallows when he was young, but for some reason, he decided to give up," Snape added.
Voldemort's face showed a variety of emotions.
When he first heard this last night, he had likewise been filled with excitement and a touch of disbelief.
The Tales from Beedle the Bard was just a bedtime story, and if the stories in it were true, then it would be too ridiculous.
However...
As he had said, Dumbledore believed it was true, and so did Andy.
Voldemort therefore had to take this seriously!
"Severus..."
Barty Crouch Jr. frowned and asked, "I don't doubt what you're saying, but...why are you only telling us now?"
Snape said indifferently, "At first, I didn't believe it either. Until last night, when Dumbledore used his wand, I finally became certain."
"As you know, Hogwarts has always been plagued with strange rumours."
Barty Crouch Jr. nodded slightly.
Snape was cautious by nature, and although he felt dissatisfied, he didn't say much.
"The Elder Wand can enhance power, and the Cloak of Invisibility can avoid curses..."
Barty Crouch Jr. asked, "What about the Resurrection Stone? What power does that stone have?"
"I don't know!"
Snape shook his head. "I only learnt that the Resurrection Stone was in Collins' hands by chance as well."
"To be honest, if I hadn't seen the power of that wand with my own eyes, I wouldn't have believed any of it."
The group nodded in understanding.
No one would easily believe such rumours.
If the Deathly Hallows were real, then what about Death?
Did Death also exist?
"My Lord..."
Snape turned to look at Voldemort and said, "I think... the Deathly Hallows may just be three extremely powerful alchemical artefacts, and the legends surrounding them may have been made up by later generations."
Voldemort pondered.
Just last night, Voldemort had decided to leave the British wizarding community and expand his influence in other European countries.
It was too difficult here!
Andy and Dumbledore are both here.
With these two in the way, Voldemort could not even survive, let alone expand his influence.
However, the news of the Deathly Hallows completely changed his mind.
What's more, all three Deathly Hallows were at Hogwarts.
It couldn't get any better than that!
"Severus..."
Voldemort confirmed once again, "Does Dumbledore really trust Andy Collins?"
"Yes!" Snape affirmed.
Thud, thud, thud –
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
Voldemort waved impatiently, and the door to the meeting room opened with a loud bang.
"I hope you have important intelligence to share with me to justify disturbing me at this moment," Voldemort said, staring at the person who had just entered the room. His hoarse voice was cold and indifferent.
"Master, master!"
The Death Eater standing in the doorway stuttered, "We followed the journalist and found that she... she was secretly meeting with Andy Collins. We..."
At the end of his sentence, the Death Eater almost thought he was going to die. Even if he didn't die, a Cruciatus Curse would be inevitable.
But compared to the Cruciatus Curse, he was even more afraid of killing someone under Andy's nose.
Journalist?
Voldemort was stunned but then quickly reacted.
An unknown journalist had stumbled upon his conspiracy in Knockturn Alley... Although this was somewhat unbelievable, it was not a big deal.
A little journalist, just kill her; it's not a big deal.
But Voldemort never imagined that there would be a sequel to this matter.
That female journalist is somehow involved with Andy Collins?
What did that article say?
Voldemort fell into deep thought...
Oh, yes!
That article smeared Dumbledore's name throughout the entirety of it!
The female journalist suggested that Dumbledore was behind the chaos in the wizarding world and that he was the one pulling the strings!
Andy had a hand in this?
