CHAPTER 8: EVERYTHING MESSED UP

Amna had been feeling a mix of emotions since the school trip. She was grateful to Saif for rescuing her, but her feelings for Hamza still lingered. She wanted to confide in him, but couldn't find the right moment. One evening, as they were walking home from school, Amna mustered up the courage to ask Hamza a question.

"Hey, Hamza? Would you like to watch a movie with me this weekend? Just the two of us?"

Hamza raised an eyebrow, surprised by the invitation. "Sure, Amna! What movie did you have in mind?"

Amna's heart skipped a beat. "I was thinking we could watch 'om shanti om'. I've seen it before, but I love it, and I think you'll like it too."

Hamza agreed, and they made plans for Saturday evening. Amna spent the next two days in a flutter, thinking about how she would reveal her feelings to Hamza during the movie night.

Saturday arrived, and Amna's nervous excitement grew as she set up the living room with snacks and blankets. Hamza arrived, and they settled in to watch the movie. As the romantic story unfolded, Amna found herself stealing glances at Hamza, her heart pounding in her chest.

Just as she was about to confess her feelings during a particularly emotional scene, the power went out, plunging the room into darkness. Amna groaned in frustration, trying to salvage the moment.

"Let's go to my backyard, we can watch the stars and talk," she suggested, hoping to recapture the intimate atmosphere.

But as they stepped outside, Amna's little brother, Ali, burst into the backyard, excitedly chattering about his day. Hamza, being the good sport he was, engaged with Ali, and soon they were all laughing and having a great time.

Amna's heart sank, realizing her plans had been foiled once again. As the night drew to a close, Hamza bid her farewell, leaving Amna feeling disappointed and frustrated. She had come so close to revealing her feelings, but it seemed fate had other plans.

As she went to bed that night, Amna couldn't help but wonder when she would find the right moment to tell Hamza how she truly felt. Little did she know, life had more surprises in store for her.
