Perched majestically on a hill, The House of Rainbow overlooked the sprawling landscape with an air of timeless grandeur. Its stone walls, adorned with intricate carvings and lush ivy, glistened under the morning sun. As the sun broke the horizon, the sprinklers shot up from the ground and begun spraying water. The occupants of the castle, most of which were adolescents, were going about there morning duties, preparing for the day.
A certain black haired boy, however, lay sound asleep in his bed. He's exposed chest slowly rising and falling. Breathing so slow he almost seemed dead. The room was quite organised for a 16 year old boy except for a few open books and papers on the study table, a few clothes strewn across the floor, as well as a single shoe, and a slightly misplaced rug.
The room overall was clean and quite large. It boasted opulent furnishings, velvet drapes, and a huge bed. No one would guess that this was a room in an orphanage. The castle's lawn was also in a mint condition accompanied with a small forest, a pond and a maze hedge next to it. All the children in the castle had similar bed rooms.
A soft knock on Nicholas' door was heard. The knocking turned to banging. Maya was used to Nick's love for sleeping, she always wondered why he loved it so much. Staring at his door with her hands on her hips she sighed and gave the door a few more pounds.
Slowly blinking, Nick begun to stir. He reached for his watch on his night stand but only felt a book. Opening his eyes a bit more he focused on the leather bound note book with latch on it.
'What the...' he thought, 'how'd this end up here?'
"Nick!?" Maya yelled from the door, "It's almost time to leave!"
He quickly sat up. Looking around he remembered he'd had to go to school.
"Leave without me" he yelled back, "I'll catch up!"
He heard her footsteps all the way down the hall until she turned the corner.
'Footsteps?' He unconsciously thought.
Looking down at his body, he had no shirt on just his pants and a single shoe. The other one was on the floor.
'What the?' He unconsciously thought again, 'why's my shoe still on.'
He could hear the chatter of children as they walked down the pavement to a high speed train that took them to school. He heard as the train slowly came to a stop by the platform across the street.
'Alright, train number 1' he thought, 'I've still got time.'
He quickly put on his long sleeved collared shirt and quickly smoothened out any creases. He gave he's leather shoes a little wipe and put them on. He stood infront of the mirror and did his tie while checking himself out. Nicholas was a very handsome boy.
'I think I need a new haircut,' he thought pulling his hair back with one hand while tugging at his tie with the other.
Licking his fingers he ran them across his eyebrows to control their ruffled look. He picked a random pile of textbooks and threw them into his backpack and swung it over his shoulder. He gave his room a last glance. The book on his nightstand caught his gaze for a second but he ignored it. Just before closing he's door though. He thought he caught a glimpse of a black cat on he's windowsill. He threw the door open again but there was nothing.
He shut and locked the door and sprinted through the halls of The House of Rainbow. Nick was, however, unaware of two things. Firstly, the cat he only noticed before leaving had been there watching him as he dressed for school from the time he woke up. Secondly, the second train was now building speed heading towards its next destination.
Practically skipping flights, Nick rushed to the kitchen in the bottom floor.
'A little snack wouldn't hurt,' he thought still effortlessly clearing the grand staircases in the House of Rainbow.
Nick rushed through a large room with large tables. He swiped a croissant and quickly gulped down some tea. By the time he pushed the large doors the third train was already halfway off the platform. Making its way towards its next destination. Muttering curses, Nick begun sprinting to the large iron gates. However by the time he reached them it was already gone.
He quickly took to the streets sprinting through the sprawling modern city, with its shimmering skyscrapers, soaring flying cars, and darting drone. His jet-black hair flowing in the wind. He moved with astonishing agility. He was surprisingly focused with an extreme intensity. As he sprints through the bustling streets, weaving seamlessly between people and obstacles, he suddenly grins. He found what he was doing thrilling and exhilarating. He felt so alive.
Ditching the streets, he climbs the stairs on the side of a building. Now leaping from one building to another with a fluid grace, effortlessly vaulting over obstacles and flipping mid-air. He found that completing even more daring and dangerous moves made him feel more alive. Each motion, more bold and daring than the last, is executed with both precision and creativity, as though he's dancing through the cityscape. His parkour moves are intricate and daring, showcasing an extraordinary blend of speed and finesse. His expressions shift from intense concentration to moments of surprise as he lands complex maneuvers with effortless ease, clearly amazed by his own skill.
Despite the frantic pace and high stakes, he remains in perfect control, barely breaking a sweat as he propels himself from rooftop to rooftop. His sleek form cuts through the air, navigating the urban jungle with a combination of instinct and practiced prowess. As he reaches his destination, Oak Tree Academy, his speed and efficiency have him arriving faster than expected. However, still late, even though he's a bit breathless, he felt a lifetime's worth of exhilaration.
He looks back smiling, still in shock at what he had just done.
'somethings off,' Nick thinks to himself, 'but I like it.'
As he walked through the gates of Oak Tree he thought to himself, 'why are my thoughts so loud today, it almost feels like I'm speaking out loud.'
Shoving the thought to the back of his mind made his way to class.
