Almost ruined our hang-out

For once, Lucia thought Alex was indeed oblivious to the situation not knowing that he was just pretending.

Anyway, she wouldn’t have noticed because she had seen Alex glued to his phone a lot of times which wasn't different from what he was doing at that moment.

“Thank you,” Lucia whispered to John.

John left the room just to change into a befitting shirt and applied some moisturizers to his skin which made it pop more.

“Alright guys, let's leave.” John stretched his right hand toward Lucia to help her stand just to demonstrate how gentle he was.

Again, Alex was so engrossed in his phone screen, that his eyes were fixated like he was about to unravel a concealed message.

“Save the pretense to yourself and get up on your feet.” John wasn't trying not to be heard.

“Oh, are you talking to me?” Alex pretended as if he never heard what he said.

“You? Why would I? I was probably referring to the man standing behind you.” John said sarcastically.
