The Next classes after that continued. Teachers came, stayed, and left whenever the bell rang for their period, and this continued until it was time for the last break of the day.
Shawn sat at his table and took out a pen, which he used to write down the basic tasks and assignments that they had been given. At that moment, he heard an almost familiar voice saying, "Hello."
"Seems like a gimmick," He thought, turning his head to glance at the one who had approached him.
"What is it?" He asked, his just narrowed at the sight of Richard hovering above him.
"Oh, nothing; I just thought that since you are my teacher for Math, we should plan on how to start the lessons," Richard said with a start.
"Oh yeah. About that, we could meet in the library on Tuesdays that way we can start lessons early. However, we should first meet in the library today and discuss further." He answered with a chilly tone. For some reason, he couldn't be calm with Richard's radiating niceness, it was annoying.
"Ok," Richard replied curtly then he walked away.
"That was strange," said Charles as he and the others watched the retreating figure.
"What was?" Shawn turned his face towards his friends.
"Usually Richard comes and just orders people to do what he asks but to see him being polite with you?" Harry paused, raising a brow.
"Maybe you did something to make him like that," Stephanie revealed a smile making Shawn frizzle and shiver in response, "Not in the slightest. All I did was give him a piece of my mind when he almost forced me to give him my homework," He said firmly.
Stephanie's smile fell through quickly, "Putting that aside, this guy gives me the creeps. Hope you guys are going to have noteworthy ones to teach." She said.
"Ah yes, the amount of teaching and effort I must put in so that I don't get dealt with a reduction of marks," Shawn scowled, expressing his annoyance.
“Thank goodness, at least today's the last day of the school week.”
The rest of the day went on, and the bell rang once again, signifying that school was over for the day. Shawn and his friends packed their books, carried their bags, and left, following Shawn to walk to Stacy's classroom.
Young Stacy was running about the class with other girls her age when she saw Shawn then turned and ran to him. "Big Brother Shawn!" She screamed, spreading her arms wide.
Shawn looked at her and just kept his eyes out for Stacy's bag. When she came to him and noticed that he wasn't looking, her hand curled into a fist and hit his thigh.
"Ow!" He screamed lightly.
"Big brother is ignoring. I'm gonna report you to Mummy." Stacy looked at him with puffed chicks and a glare, making her look even cuter.
Seeing this look on her face made Shawn subconsciously smile and he bent down to pick her up. "Young Stacy ignored Big Brother this morning."
"Sorry big brother Shawn," Stacy apologized while pouting.
"Ughhh. Can we hurry and go to our homes? This cutie nice sibling thing is making my eyes hurt" Harry commented from the side, touching his eyes like they had been affected by something.
"Ohkk." Shawn chuckled and walked toward the corner of the classroom where the bags were kept.
Stacy smiled at Shawn, probably happy that he was talking to her. Earlier, she just felt like ignoring her brother, and now she knew that was not nice.
Shawn and his friends carried their bags and left the school gates. Eventually, Shawn waved goodbye to Harry and Charles while Stephanie, along with Lucas and Stacy, got in a taxi.
After getting off, Shawn and Stephanie both walked for a few minutes before they went their separate ways. On getting to his house, the Big Bro got his siblings ready to go to their rooms after they had dropped the things that needed to be dropped.
He then turned on his computer, connected to the house WiFi, and started researching the civilizations that resided across the Nile. He found the topics of discussion very intriguing, interesting and invested. All in all, he was impressed with the write-ups.
"The Ancient Civilizations, most especially Egypt and Kush, did a lot of things regarding culture, research, and beliefs," He said right before heaving a sigh of relief, “Thank goodness it's the last day of the school week.”
A memory of Ornio crept into his head and popped up. He wondered what had happened to the other various races except the ones with higher beings, most especially the orcs. "I wonder how those other four are doing?" He thought before continuing the History homework and others that had been given to him by his teachers.
Then he moved to science, and for some reason, he remembered the quest concerning the laws that he had yet to make.
The science teacher had asked them to research a few of the various scientific laws that had been made over the years.
"I am getting a lot of inspiration from these topics." He presumed that after he was done with his assignment, he began to write down the plans he had for Ornio.
"Shawn, it's time for dinner," Emily's voice echoed into his ears. Shawn stopped his work and came downstairs to the dining room where he ate his dinner.
"So how was school today?" Nick asked."It was.... okay" He replied, stuffing a piece of meat into his mouth.
"School was fine Daddy," Stacy replied.
"Just how it is every day," Lucas answered with a bored look as he scooped a spoon of rice into his mouth.
"Okay," Nick asked a second question, "Was there anything exciting for you today, Shawn?"
"Not much, except that my teacher teamed me up with the class bully to teach Math lessons." Shawn said before swallowing a piece of meat that he had been chewing, “What do you mean teaming up for math lessons?" Nick probed.
"Well. He kinda asked every one of those who hadn't submitted their homework to choose from those who had so that they could give them lessons on topics treated after the classes. Then he was going to test us all after some time had passed."
"I feel your teacher is trying to foster some unity among your Class. He doesn't want just a few people to enter the top of the class in math, he wants you all to come with it. Even if it means that you should just get above average." Nick explained Robert's intentions.
"He could just have directly allocated them to individuals. Why did he have to ask them who they wanted?"
"Well. That way it wouldn't be forced but clearly within one's agreement and choice."
"But it's not my agreement and choice. A class bully who gets what he wants. I am just going to be forced into corruption," Shawn winced, annoyed at the unfair situation.
"Calm down boy. Not everyone is as bad as you think. The more you get to know each other the more you will realize that there are factors that make up a person's lifestyle." Nick said, trying to sound optimistic.
"And if he does anything untrustworthy or worth 'bullying' tell me. I'll come and whoop his ass." He inserted.
"Mum! I think we need to send Dad to the Tibetan mountains so that he can become a wise monk!" Lucas shouted.
"Hey. I'm already married and have three wonderful kids. Why would I want to become a monk?" Nick jested.
Emily, who was still in the kitchen, came out to the dining room and sat closer to Nick. "Oh well, you might become the next to ascend the heavens." She said and they both started laughing.
"Come on. I'm already attached to the mortal world," Nick said while gazing at his wife with a fiery passion in his eyes.
Feeling the coming vibe from both of them, Shawn and Lucas were about to say something but then Stacy cried, "Mummy and Daddy wanna do something mushy!"
Feeling the thing that they had tried to get distracted about gets spoken to their ears. Shawn and Lucas screamed before closing their eyes dramatically, "Ewww!" The trio shouted.
Nick and Emily both laughed at both their kids' reactions and the family continued having their meal with various jokes before everyone left to their separate rooms.
Shawn stayed awake a little longer before he went to sleep. Then the automatic process came. *Logging creator into the world* The system said.
He opened his eyes slowly and got off the couch "System, I need answers from you."
*Anything that the Creator of Ornio desires to know I can help with the best of my abilities.*
"Oh first stop with the formalities, and next, I want to know why the world is going so fast that it's affecting my sleep pattern in the real world?"
*Well. You are still attached to the mortal world, and in a sense, Ornio and the real world that you live in are connected, so there is a dependency. The more time you spend here, the less time you will spend there.*
"Is there a way to reduce this effect of dependency from both worlds?" He asked, hoping not to receive a dreadful response.
*There are ways to do it. One of them requires you to cut the connection with one of the worlds so that you will be able to stay in only one of them. Another is for you to be affected in a way that your body is shut down in one while functioning in the other.*
"What the..." Shawn's mouth flew agape, and he stared at the screen in shock, "That's messed up, and even so, how does someone do that?"
*Well you could try to go into a coma or fall unconscious. That is only necessary for you if you have nothing to lose in the real world.*
"What do you mean if I have nothing to lose? Haven't there been others out there who have been in this situation?"
*Yes, there have been many others out who have been in this situation and most of them chose to remain in the game and forfeit their normal lives.*
"So I am not the first to be in this condition. How many people are in the same state as this one happening to me?"
*There are many of them. You're not the only one who has a world or worlds.*
