Adam discusses his plans

Adam felt that he would not sell out like his grandfather did. Neither would he take up gambling, because there were no guarantees there.

Death however, was a very certain event in everybody’s life and if a family member could come out of suffering and have the economic scales in life evened up for them, then why not?

The departed person would not need the money, because they were going off to an even better place, so it was a win-win situation.

The poor and suffering family members would then also be able to hold their heads a little bit higher, even if they had started off with only the bare necessities of life.

He was not going to approach the matter that bluntly with his aunt though. He was going to mention this as only a matter of curiosity.

“Sit down my boy,” she said in her familiar friendly tone. “What brings you over? It’s been a while since you visited us. Do you have a steady girlfriend now?” she teased.
