Jacqueline sets out to the bush

The visit did not last longer than an hour because Shannon and Laura had to return to the hotel, so that Laura could prepare for her interview with the press.

She wondered whether this would be the beginning of the paparazzi part of her life. The tea had energized her though, so she was not as nervous as she had been earlier.

After Laura and Shannon had left, Jacqueline noticed that her “admirer” had also apparently left. Her cousin, Joachim arrived about fifteen minutes later.

He was of medium height, with dark, thick hair and large hazel-brown eyes. He looked happy to see her.

Joachim sat down at the table and told them about his wife and six-year-old son, who would be waiting for him at home. He seemed to be a devoted family man.

He asked if they would like to go home with him for dinner, but Carminda explained that they were on a tight schedule.
