Adam and Jacqueline back home

Jacqueline was waiting for Adam at the airport in Johannesburg. It seemed as if the world had changed since she and Adam had last seen each other.

When he approached she could see, from the way that he walked and carried himself, that Adam was a changed person. “Jacqui!” he called out when he saw her. He held his arms out wide to embrace her.

They had lunch at the airport, in order to save themselves from the effort of driving around in the city, in search of parking.

So the two friends sat in a coffee shop and tried to catch up on the latest events in one another’s lives. Jacqueline’s life had changed, because her father had developed a heart condition.

So she now spent more time in the family bakery, in order to assist her mother with the workload, until such time as they could employ a suitable permanent assistant.
