Jacqueline sighed deeply as she pulled up to the abandoned Victorian mansion on the outskirts of town, gravel crunching under her tires. She had been deeply immersed in analyzing data for her psychology research project lately, studying emotional regulation techniques.
But when her new friend Laura called in near-hysterics about strange noises and flickering lights coming from the supposedly empty old Blackwell House, she just couldn’t resist investigating.
"Laura, slow down!" Jacqueline had cried into the phone earlier that day.
"What do you mean you saw lights in the window of the Blackwell House? No one has lived there for years."
"I'm telling you, Jackie, as I drove by last night I saw flickering lights and I swear I heard screaming coming from inside!" Laura insisted.
"That place is amazing but it has constantly given me the creeps, every time that I pass by on my way home after a film shoot.
