"Don't panic!"
"Stay calm!"
Norris continually reminded himself in his mind.
"There must be a way!"
He took a deep breath and then slowly exhaled.
He then increased the distance from Maxwell even further and began another round of engagement.
Maxwell suddenly leaped, but because Norris was positioned too high, Maxwell fell back down before reaching him.
His highest jump reached only thirty-two meters!
After several rounds of attacks, Norris had figured out Maxwell's maximum limit.
"Just use this limit distance to wear him down!"
Norris stayed at thirty-five meters high, occasionally throwing down bolts of lightning.
Meanwhile, Maxwell on the ground kept dodging quickly.
"As long as you keep moving, there will be exhaustion. I don't believe you can keep this up forever without tiring!"
With this thought, Norris forced himself to revive his spirits and gather his energy.
"Even if your defense is abnormal, I don't believe I can't wear you down!"
Norris had adjusted his mindset.
Initially, he hadn't taken Maxwell seriously, underestimating him and being thrown into disarray by Maxwell's tactics, which is why he had repeatedly lost his composure.
But now, he regarded Maxwell as a worthy opponent.
"I've never been this rattled before in my life! My grandfather always told me that having things too easy wasn't necessarily good. Now that I've met you, it's a perfect opportunity to temper my spirit!"
Norris had a breakthrough in his thinking.
"Norris seems different now!"
Among the spectators in the arena, some were the first to notice the change in Norris.
"Stay calm! Yes, that's it! Take him down!"
Basil also noticed Norris's change, and he vehemently cheered inwardly.
The battle between the two seemed to have reached a stalemate, with Norris using his lightning abilities to wear Maxwell down, while Maxwell also launched counterattacks. However, due to Norris's exceedingly high position, Maxwell couldn't reach him.
"Hahaha, must be frustrating to get hit without being able to touch the enemy, right?"
Basil watched Maxwell as if he was a clown performing a show, and burst into laughter.
"What's the use of jumping high, hahaha! Ridiculous!"
Basil sneered.
Suddenly, Maxwell leaped up, reaching a height that for the first time exceeded thirty-two meters—thirty-three meters, to be exact!
This startled Basil because he had just noted that Maxwell's limit was thirty-two meters, and he had even descended a bit. But seeing him now barely reach thirty-three, Basil relaxed a bit.
However, at that moment, as Maxwell began to descend, the corners of his lips curled into a sly smile—he had been waiting for this opportunity.
Indeed, he could only leap thirty-two meters; this thirty-three meters was already an exceptional effort. But Maxwell was not without abilities!
Norris had been constantly vigilant in the air, especially since he also had wings. If Norris realized that Maxwell had abilities, he would definitely be on guard, considering Maxwell's limited height in jumping and the limited range of his abilities.
If Norris flew even higher, Maxwell really wouldn't stand a chance.
This meant that Maxwell had only one chance to launch an ability attack on Norris!
Thus, Maxwell did not trigger his abilities at the peak of his jump, because that would be when Norris was most alert and guarded.
Instead, Maxwell waited until he started to fall, taking advantage of Norris having let his guard down.
Now was the time!
Maxwell activated his abilities!
Enhanced by the ability points from the treasure chest, Maxwell's lightning ability attacked!
A massive surge of wild lightning was hurled from Maxwell's hand.
Norris in the air, completely unprepared, was struck in the wing by Maxwell's attack.
This strike, had it hit Norris directly, could have instantly killed him, or at the very least, severely injured him.
Of course, Maxwell wouldn't take such a gamble; leaving Norris only injured might have made things more complicated if he managed to escape despite his wounds.
Better to cripple his wing, preventing him from staying airborne.
Norris did see the ability manifesting in Maxwell's hand, but having let his guard down, his reaction was a fraction slow.
So, he only managed to move slightly to the side, still getting hit by the blast of lightning Maxwell threw, striking his wing.
His left wing was instantly obliterated by the violently energetic bolt of lightning, turning into a bloody mess.
A sense of fear surged in Norris's heart.
But he could no longer maintain his position in the air; with one wing gone, he couldn't balance and fell from the sky.
"Ah!"
As Norris plummeted, a cry of shock rose from the arena.
Nearly everyone present stood up, their faces filled with horror.
"How is that possible! How could he also have lightning abilities!"
Inside the private box, Basil was shocked, pointing at Maxwell and shouting incredulously.
In a certain private box, the woman who had been lounging lazily on the sofa also sat up straight, her red lips parting slightly, murmuring, "This is getting interesting!"
"Hahahaha! That's Maxwell for you, always full of surprises! Now that Norris has been brought down, he can't just rely on flying to drag out the fight! I think Norris is done for now!"
Bernard laughed heartily, feeling utterly exhilarated.
The Evolvers by his side, however, were turning pale.
Maxwell was constantly proving them wrong!
One of the Evolvers originally wanted to grit his teeth and insist, "The fight isn't over yet, don't celebrate too early," but the words barely reached his lips before he swallowed them back down.
Don't joke around!
How could he not see it now?
Previously, when Norris could use his wings to fly, he couldn't touch Maxwell at all and could only passively dodge by flying high. Now that he can't even use his wings, how is Norris, grounded, supposed to fight Maxwell?
No one was optimistic about Norris anymore.
"Norris is going to lose!"
"Maxwell had previously killed Samuel, and now it looks like Norris will follow. I wonder if he can wait for someone to stop Maxwell before he dies."
An Evolver commented.
"Who dares to intervene? Look around, is there anyone in Tampa City Base more powerful than Norris? Norris is Tier 7! Tier 7 is about to be killed by Maxwell! Unless some high-profile figure appears now, Maxwell might respect the figure enough to spare Norris. But given the strength Maxwell has shown, I doubt even high-profile figures would want to offend him!"
