Chapter 26: Respect your wife and her family

" Why did I have to get married to that..that..woman ?"

—-

As Trina and Ryan arrived at the new Walter's Hotel, where Trina's restaurant was set to open, they were greeted by a flurry of camera flashes and reporters clamoring for attention.

Trina's eyes widened in surprise as she stepped out of the car and onto the red carpet.

She had expected some attention, but not this much.

Ryan smiled and took Trina's arm, leading her through the crowd of reporters. "Smile, dear," she whispered. "You're a Walter now. You have to get used to this kind of attention."

As they made their way into the hotel, Trina was treated with respect and deference by the staff and the reporters. Everyone addressed her as "Mrs. Walter", and she couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and belonging.

"Mrs. Walter, congratulations on the opening of your new restaurant," said one of the reporters, thrusting a microphone in her face.

"What inspired you to open a restaurant in the Walter's Hotel?"

Trina smiled confidently and began to answer the reporter's questions, feeling like she was finally finding her place in the world as Mrs. Walter.

——

Romeo's face twisted with anger as he watched the opening ceremony of Trina's restaurant on live television.

He couldn't believe what he was seeing - Trina, beaming with pride, surrounded by cameras and reporters, and his mother, Ryan, smiling and congratulating her like she was her own daughter.

Romeo's anger boiled over as he thought that Trina had married him for one reason and one reason only - money.

She had manipulated his mother , used her to get to him and his family's wealth and influence, and now she was reaping the benefits.

He thought back to their wedding day, how Trina had smiled and laughed and pretended to be in love with him.

It was all a lie, he realized now. She had never loved him, never cared about him. All she had ever wanted was his money and his family's name.

Romeo's eyes narrowed as he watched Trina cut the ribbon to her new restaurant.

He felt a wave of resentment wash over him, and he knew that he had to do something to take back control.

He couldn't let Trina continue to manipulate his mother and use him for her own gain.

After the opening ceremony Trina and talked to Ryan.

"Thank you, Mother," she said, tears almost in her eyes.

Ryan's face lit up with a warm smile, and she leaned in to cup Trina's face tightly. "I'm so proud of you, Trina," she said. "You're going to do great things with this restaurant, I just know it."

Trina smiled to Ryan back, feeling a sense of comfort and security in her presence. She was grateful to have Ryan in her life.

" I promise I am going to work hard and pay you back." She says.

" I trust you Trina.." Ryan said.

she could always count on her for support and guidance.

——

After the excitement of the restaurant opening had died down, Ryan turned to Trina with a concerned expression.

"Trina, dear, I think it's time we went to visit your mother at the hospital," she said gently.

Trina's face clouded over with worry as she nodded. "Yes, Mother, I'd like that," she said.

Ryan smiled warmly and took Trina's arm.

"I'll escort you to the hospital," she said. "We can go together and visit Meble."

Trina nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Ryan. She was still getting used to having Ryan in her life, but she had to admit that it was nice to have someone to lean on.

As they made their way to the hospital, Trina couldn't help but feel a sense of anxiety.

Her mother, Meble, had been in a coma for weeks, and Trina was worried that she might never wake up.

Ryan seemed to sense Trina's unease and gave her arm a reassuring squeeze.

"We'll get through this together, Trina," she said softly. "We'll make sure Meble gets the best care possible."

After they arrived at the hospital, Ryan gave Trina some space to sit with her mother, Meble, and collect her thoughts.

Trina sat down in the chair beside Meble's bed, taking her mother's hand in hers and whispering softly to her.

Meanwhile, Ryan stepped out of the room to make a phone call.

She dialed Romeo's number, and when he answered, she could tell by the tone of his voice that he was still in a bad mood.

"Romeo, I need you to come to the hospital," Ryan said firmly.

Romeo's response was immediate and negative.

"I'm busy, Mother. I don't have time to go to the hospital."

Ryan's voice turned icy. "Romeo, your wife's mother is lying in a coma. The least you can do is show some respect and come to visit her."

Romeo snorted. "Respect? You want me to show respect to Trina's mother? You know I don't even want to be married to Trina."

Ryan's voice rose in anger. "How dare you, Romeo! You're going to stand there and insult your wife and her family? You're a Walter, for goodness' sake! We have standards to uphold. Trying using your sense ! "

Romeo's tone changed, and he sounded sulky. "Fine, Mother. I'll come to the hospital. But only because I don't want to hear your lectures."

Ryan's voice was triumphant. "Good. I'll see you soon, Romeo."

Trina sat beside Meble's bed, holding her mother's hand and talking to her softly.

"Mother, I have so much to tell you," she said, her voice filled with emotion.

"I got married. I know, I know, it's not what you wanted for me, but I had to do what I thought was best."

Trina's eyes welled up with tears as she thought about how much she wished her mother could have been there to witness her wedding.

"It's so sad that you weren't there, Mother,"

she said, her voice cracking. "I wish you could have seen me walk down the aisle. I wish you could see how beautiful the gown was ."

Trina paused, collecting her thoughts before continuing. " Mother, I hope you know that I love you and I always will. I wish you could wake up and talk to me, tell me what you think about everything that's happened."

Trina's voice trailed off as she looked at her mother's peaceful face.

She felt a sense of longing and sadness, wishing that her mother could be there to share in her joys and sorrows.
