Chapter 188: Loguetown

On their journey, aside from encountering the clown Buggy, nothing significant happened. As they sailed further, a small town appeared in the distance.

A smile crept onto Ryujiro's face.

"We've arrived at Loguetown."

Loguetown was the most famous town in the East Blue, a place many pirates had to pass through.

It held the legacy of the Pirate King, Roger, who was executed in this very town, marking the beginning of the Great Pirate Era.

Ryujiro's ship docked at the harbor, where a few naval ships and several pirate ships were also anchored.

He intended to gather supplies in Loguetown and find a cook.

If he remembered correctly, there was a female chef named Carmen in this town.

In the original story, she had a cooking showdown with Sanji. Though she lost to him, her skills were still commendable.

Ryujiro needed both a cook and a navigator for his ship.

While finding a cook wasn't difficult, locating a capable navigator was challenging, and he didn't want just any navigator.

His goal was to sail through the New World eventually. If the navigator's skills were limited to the East Blue, Ryujiro wouldn't be interested.

As they entered Loguetown, Ryujiro noticed that the pirates here were much more subdued compared to other towns, and the townspeople seemed less afraid of them.

It appeared that Smoker had done a good job protecting this place.

However, as Ryujiro and Hinata entered the town, several covert gazes locked onto them.

In a discreet alleyway, a group of people was monitoring Ryujiro and Hinata.

"Is it them?"

"Yes, it's them."

"But the intel didn't mention that guy had white hair."

"And the woman's eyes are white. Could she belong to some special race?"

These were members of CP5, the World Government's secret intelligence agency. They had been dispatched specifically to monitor Ryujiro and Hinata.

A person capable of defeating Mihawk and possessing Admiral-level strength was not someone to be ignored.

If such a person were to establish or join one of the Yonko pirate crews, it could upset the balance of the seas.

They believed they were well-hidden, but little did they know that Ryujiro had already noticed them the moment he stepped into Loguetown.

Just a few insignificant mice, he thought. There was no rush to deal with them.

If the World Government wanted to monitor him, they'd have to prove themselves worthy.

Loguetown was indeed impressive, offering much more than other towns.

Ryujiro and Hinata bought a variety of items, mainly fruits and other provisions.

They hadn't stocked up much in the previous town they stopped at.

"Ryujiro-kun, what is that place?" Hinata asked, noticing a unique structure in the center of the town.

"That's the execution platform."

"A place to deal with criminals?"

"Yes."

A flash of regret crossed Ryujiro's face. It was a pity that Roger's soul had already vanished from this place.

If Roger's soul were still present, he would have found a way to transform it into a Hollow.

Creating an Vasto Lorde in the Pirate World would add another force to disrupt the balance of the seas.

"Let's go, Hinata. We should check out the rest of the town."

"Okay."

Meanwhile, at the Marine base, a soldier reported the situation at the harbor.

"Captain Smoker, three pirate crews have landed in Loguetown, along with an unknown vessel."

Smoker took a deep drag on his cigar, exhaling a cloud of smoke.

"The three pirate crews are not a concern. But do we have a description of the individuals from the unknown ship?"

The soldier nodded and relayed the details.

Smoker's brow furrowed. A white-haired boy and a white-eyed girl... Why did that sound familiar?

Wait a minute!

Smoker suddenly remembered something. He quickly rummaged through his desk drawer and pulled out the intelligence report sent by the Marine Headquarters.

Wasn't the boy who defeated Mihawk described in the report as a young boy? And wasn't there a note that he was accompanied by a girl with white eyes?

Smoker's expression turned serious, and a sense of gravity settled in his eyes.

"So, it's him. Is he also aiming to enter the Grand Line?"

The pressure Smoker felt was immense, a sensation he hadn't experienced in a long time.

An individual with Admiral-level strength showing up in Loguetown was a huge cause for concern for Smoker, even if the person wasn't confirmed to be a pirate.

Puru Puru Puru!

Smoker grabbed his Den Den Mushi, intending to report this to Marine Headquarters.

"What?!"

"That guy has landed in Loguetown?!"

"Smoker, do not act rashly. We don't know his intentions yet, so don't provoke him."

"If he hasn't been confirmed as a pirate, we have no reason to engage."

In the Fleet Admiral's office, Sengoku sternly advised Smoker on how to handle the situation.

They couldn't afford to provoke such a powerful individual and risk making an unnecessary enemy for the Marines.

With the Marines now focused on maintaining order against the pirate crews entering the New World, they had no resources left to deal with someone as powerful as Ryujiro.

"Understood, Fleet Admiral Sengoku."

"But…"

"If he causes trouble in Loguetown, what should I do?"

"If that happens, leave it to the Headquarters. Just hope that no one is foolish enough to provoke him."

After receiving Sengoku's instructions, Smoker knew how to proceed.

"Keep an eye on them, but make sure no one provokes them."

"Yes, Captain Smoker!"

After the soldier left, Smoker sat in his chair, rubbing his temples. The pressure weighed heavily on him. He hadn't felt this way in a long time.

Hopefully, no idiots would provoke that guy.

"Dammit! How could I forget!"

Smoker's face paled as he realized something.

The townspeople might not provoke Ryujiro, but that didn't mean the pirates wouldn't.

If any pirate angered Ryujiro, Loguetown could be caught in the crossfire.

"Bang—"

Smoker rushed out of his office, startling Tashigi, who had just arrived to report on the training of the new recruits.

"Captain Smoker?"

"Where are they headed?"

Tashigi watched as Smoker hurriedly rode off on his motorbike, a look of panic on his face. She had never seen him like this before.

Something bad must be about to happen, she thought.

Unable to contain her curiosity, Tashigi grabbed her sword and followed after him.

"Boss, I heard that Loguetown is a graveyard for pirates. Won't the Marines take action if we enter so brazenly?"

"You coward! I'm a pirate with a 23 million berries bounty. Marines? If they dare mess with me, they'll regret it!"

The captain of the Sawtooth Pirates grinned menacingly, his eyes filled with malice as he glared at the pirate who had spoken.

"If you ever say something like that again, I'll slice you in half!"

The pirate, sensing his captain's killing intent, turned pale and nodded fearfully.
