Chapter 198: Ascending to the Skypiea

During the boring time at sea, Ryujiro helped Carmen develop her Devil Fruit abilities. The Wind-Wind Fruit was indeed a top-tier Logia-type Devil Fruit.

Mastering the principles of the fruit could unleash world-destroying power.

As the waves crashed against the ship, Ryujiro gazed into the distance; they should be approaching the White Sea soon.

His goal was the Skypiea, a mysterious island Ryujiro was eager to see for himself.

After several hours, they finally arrived at the White Sea.

"Ryujiro, why did we come to the White Sea?" Kun asked in confusion.

A mysterious smile curved Ryujiro's lips. "You'll find out soon enough."

As he spoke, Kun felt their ship gradually ascending, and he grabbed a railing to steady himself.

A few minutes later, Kun saw a massive shadow through the clouds.

"What is that?!" Kun's body trembled, and his expression turned increasingly excited as he recognized the enormous shadow.

"It's Sky Island! The Sky Island!"

"Oh my goodness! The Sky Island really exists! I thought it was just a legend when I was a child!"

"The Sky Island truly exists in this world!"

Tears of joy welled up in Kun's eyes as he saw the Skypiea as if it had opened up a new world for him.

Now Kun understood why Ryujiro had come to the White Sea, but how did Ryujiro know that the Skypiea was floating ten thousand meters above?

Breaking through the white clouds, Ryujiro's ship landed on the vast, white sea of clouds.

"Incredible! It's too incredible!"

"This cloud… is it the sea?!"

Kun looked around in excitement.

Ryujiro's lips curved into a smile as he observed the surrounding clouds. "This world is truly marvelous."

Hinata walked up slowly and looked at Ryujiro seriously. "Ryujiro-kun, how did you know there was an island up here?"

"Well," Ryujiro said with a casual smile, "it's just a hunch."

"A hunch?" Hinata looked at Ryujiro skeptically, feeling a strange sensation in her heart as she gazed at the vast sea of clouds.

This world was completely different from the ninja world.

There were so many amazing things that it was hard to imagine a floating island ten thousand meters above.

Ryujiro's purpose in coming to the Skypiea was to see the so-called "god" of the Skypiea and to test his own hypothesis. 

If Ryujiro remembered correctly, in the original story, Devil Fruit abilities could transfer to nearby fruits when the user died.

If the Devil Fruit's power transfers to other fruits after the user's death, perhaps the Thunder-Thunder Fruit…

Someone was coming.

Ryujiro's Observation Haki detected a presence rapidly approaching them.

"Enough!"

A masked Skypiean flew rapidly towards them. Carmen's eyes narrowed.

The calm of the Skypiea was abruptly disturbed as a violent hurricane, like a tidal wave, engulfed the Skypiean, leaving him terrified.

"Could you be…"

Under the fierce hurricane, the Skypiean was swept into the sea of clouds.

There were creatures in the sea of clouds similar to Sea Kings, so the Skypiean was in grave danger.

"Well done, Carmen."

"You're handling things quite well now," Kun praised.

Carmen, a bit embarrassed by the praise, humbly said, "I'm still far from perfect."

"Whoosh—!"

At that moment, another figure was rapidly approaching them—a knight in silver armor riding a pink Pegasus, heading straight towards them.

Ryujiro recognized this person, but he remained silent.

Carmen acted quickly, summoning another fierce hurricane, sending Gan Fall flying away.

"What kind of ability is this!"

Gan Fall's pupils dilated as he was helplessly swept away by the hurricane.

This ability is similar to Enel's!

What kind of people are these Blue Planet inhabitants!

Gan Fall had no idea where he would be blown to. The Pegasus below him struggled against the hurricane but was powerless to resist, so they could only wait for the storm to end.

Ryujiro, observing the situation, wore a wry smile.

Carmen's actions were a bit too efficient, leaving him no chance to speak.

This minor incident didn't bother Ryujiro. He guided the ship steadily towards the Gate of Heaven.

They encountered the guards at the Gate of Heaven, but Ryujiro paid them no mind and passed through the gate, ignoring the old woman.

Ryujiro also sensed the eyes watching them from the shadows.

Could it be Enel? His Observation Haki, enhanced by the Thunder-Thunder Fruit, could cover the entire Skypiea. Enel was indeed a genius.

However, his early appearance and defeat by Luffy's protagonist halo seemed a bit far-fetched.

Ryujiro had once thought it absurd that Enel, a formidable force in the first half of the Grand Line, was defeated by Luffy.

Despite his power being comparable to a Marine Admiral, his arrogance was his downfall.

If Enel played his cards right, Ryujiro might have allowed him aboard the ship. If not, Enel would merely be a test subject.

After all, Ryujiro wasn't sure if his experiment would succeed; it was a matter of probability.

Enel had a curious smile on his face.

"Interesting Blue Planet inhabitants. That woman seems to possess a similar ability to mine. Perhaps I can learn something from these Blue Planet people."

"Gedatsu, Satori, Shura, Ohm."

"Bring the intruders to me."

The Four Priests of Skypiea bowed respectfully.

"Yes! God!"

Ryujiro and his group did not encounter significant trouble as they entered the island. 

Occasionally, they were attacked by creatures similar to Sea Kings, but Carmen and Kun used these encounters for practice.

With Enel's appearance, Ryujiro didn't plan to act personally. Enel was an excellent training target.

For Carmen, fighting Enel would quickly build her combat experience and refine her abilities. Training with Ryujiro alone wasn't enough.

She needed to feel the pressure of real danger to complete her transformation.

"Are they coming?" Ryujiro raised an eyebrow as four figures rapidly approached them.

The Four Priests of Skypiea?

Perfect. They're just the right opponents for Carmen and Kun to practice against.
