Aniya blinked in disbelief and eyed the garment bag, Valerie was holding, "What?"
"Yeah," Valerie waved the bag on her face, "I also can't believe it. My baby is all grown up and about to get married," She announced excitedly.
For a moment, Aniya was certain that Valerie had lost her mind, "What are you talking about?" She demanded, her voice raising a little, "And where is my phone?" She turned back to look for her phone again, her hands patting around the bedside table.
Valerie calmly placed the garment bag down and pulled out a designer wedding dress, "Your phone isn't important right now, sweetie," she said casually as if this wasn't a big deal for her.
Aniya's panic was mounting with each passing minute, "Mom, this isn't funny. Okay? Where is my phone? I need to call Lisa. She'll come here to pick me."
