He was staring at the blooming flowers around him, a dirty boy inveloped in shadows, he tried but he wasn't able to get himself to achieve moving to the melody of the wind like the flowers did. He tried to understand them, but he didn't get it. Somehow They followed the winds rythem, but were still able to be in one place, he thought hard about that feeling, as if the surrender the flowers showed towards the wind had something majestic about it, but at the end, he still saw that as an inferior behavior.
The slow setting of the sun, moved him to stand and burn another cigarette abset mindedly, the kind of abset of mind only possible Infront of the setting sun.
He started walking on the darkness that carried him.
He loved the darkness, almost crazily so, in his village that counted as a negative trait, they kept distance from him, but he didn't care.
"Why do you keep going here, it's dangerous" it was Bell, she ran to him in a shadowy figure under the little gate of light the sun surrounded them with. The boy didn't rush to respond to her, it didn't really matter what he would say, he will still suffer at home. Almost uniquely from her, like a fine big sister. This time her eyes seemed to really burn with furry.
"is this the time of year that you get..." Bell through a punch at him before his words finished spreading through the wind "sorry" the boy looked down as if ashamed. "This is the time in year that the yellers and shadows walk in the area" the boy freezed, every time he heard the names of the yellers and shadows he would mentally see their image as depicted in the old book at his house that only his dad was allow to touch, and the storys his father used to tell him. "So what are you waiting for, let's go" the boy said rushingly and Bel frowned. They ran over tham way, rushing over to the village, passing by a hill that getting darker as the sun kept setting, easy prey. "No, wait a minute they say there's a leir of shadows on that way, near the Children cliff, we need to turn somewhere else" Bell started to push him off the path, but he kept rushing forward "trust me, I know this place better then most, with all other options it will be dark way before we get to the village, then we would dead for sure" it was cleare looking at the sun movement that he was right, but Bel still stood frozen in place, a shadow slenderized her face, making her face seem sharper and brought them a gloomy halo, the boy rushed her a couple of times, trying to shake her out of the confusion, it's was a very common thing in his village, the villagers usually cant hendel being in the shadows, everyone except him.
"Wha... ooo yes, I am coming after you" she still looked confused, but not scared as most of the villagers would, she never looked afraid, not in front of him. "why did you even get here" the boy sighed, "you'll only slow us down"
Bell shook her head trying to regain focus, the kid nodded his head toward her and they both started running deeper into the fogg covered moist path, the fogg spreaded through the world around them from within falling sun, the fogg was a bad sign for them, the shadows liked to hide within it. It takes time to get to the end of the path, and so the siblings were forced to walk in the night l. The kid cursed his ignorance from everyone he is the one you would expect to remember the shadows wandering season, he already almost happened to were caught alone with the scarry creatures. The two kids still ran at night when a scream tore through the silens sending shivers down their spine, they started to speed up, somewhat ironically the scream that were stronger than the sounds of nature most off the times belonged to the shadows and not their pray or the yellers. This sign was probably meaning the the shadow residing in the cave at the children hill was heading to his home, if he were to get there before them they would need to somehow find a diffrente way to get to the village while avoiding the shadows Which would probably mean certain death probably, actually nobody really knew what happens when someone meets the shadows, no one was able to meet the shadows and come back to tell them. The kid became iretated more and more and fear started to envelope him, it wasn't looking like they were going to outrun the shadow and Bell was getting more and more disturbed by the deapenning of the shadowa cast by the moon. It didn't look like any of her senses was focused on the path ahead. The kid kept pushing her forward almost not paying any attention to the things around them, when his breath started to sound more and more haggered to the point of sounding like a weird cough, this grabbed his attention for the reason that even though he was pushing his sister forward he is still supposed to be quite strong and this much shouldn't be such a burden to him, but the weird coughs only got stronger. He thought about slowing down for a bit to catch his breath when suddenly he felt a push from his sister's direction sending him to the tall grass at the side of the road, while falling moment before hitting the ground he saw a disturbed grey silluete revealing himself at the top of a small hill to the left of them, he froze suddenly realizing the source of the weird coughs "a yeller"
....
The dragon opened his eye.
