CHAPTER TWENTY-NINE: HIJIRAR'S PRAYER

Chapter Twenty-Nine: HIJIRAR'S Prayer.

"Wait, did I hear you well" I could hear myself saying.

"I'm sorry, I left the hill" Ovie said, hints of guilt could be seen in his eyes.

"You left the hill!!!!"

Old lady Papirus's voice boomed through the whole hut. She stood up almost immediately with anger and fury. I knew Ovie was in big trouble. A possible silence lingered as both Ovie and old Lady Papirus had an odd staring contest.

"I'm sorry, old lady Papirus. But I just couldn't take the loneliness of staying in the hut and besides I met new friends" Ovie said, taking his eyes down.

The old lady's piercing eyes were still on Ovie,it was like she was going to year him apart.

"And there is no doubt you had an encounter with a spirit" the old lady fumed with anger.

I don't really have to blame Ovie. Staying alone in this lonely and deserted hut for a whole day could have been a lot of suffering or so. I wonder what other things did he encounter when he was out there in the forest. Well, maybe I would be finding out sooner than I thought.

"I made friends with some nature spirits. The spirit rabbits and also Zeph, their leader" Ovie says, his eyes daring not to look up.

Zeph,a cool name for the leader.

"Then, you got into a fight with Inka" old lady Papirus growled.

Surprise and shock could be seen on Ovie's face.

"How did you know that I almost got killed by Inka?" Ovie asked finally looking at old lady Papirus in the eye.

"Well, cause his energy could be felt all over the forest. The worst part of it is that, Inka is a spirit of dark energy. A spirit with dark magic and he could have killed you" old lady Papirus growled even more.

"I'm sorry lady Papirus" Ovie apologized again.

Looks like a lot must have happened for him to be so guilty as this. Too bad I wasn't there to witness it. The old lady was about to seat down again, but remembered that she was cooking something.

"Old lady Papirus, I met someone....."

"No more word from you" the old lady interrupted Ovie's sentence, sending him a glare that exactly sends shivers.

Old lady Papirus left the living room and headed straight for the kitchen. I tapped Ovie's shoulders and followed the old lady. In a jiffy, dinner was served. A light combination of soft baked bread, peanut butter and jam. Lovely.

The fantastic dinner didn't take Ovie to sleep immediately. He and the old lady had a private discussion which I didn't want to bother myself into. I cleared the dinning table and had the dishes washed. I headed for the room after that.

Ovie lay on the bed staring at the ceiling. He flashed me a sweet smile making me to give a chuckle. He stood from the bed creating a place for me to sit. I sat down on the bed, my eyes not leaving his handsome face.

His smile widened seeing how I was captivated I was at his features. It made me to forget that it was because of his dimples that I fell in love with him.

"What did you and the old lady talk about?" I asked, finally saying something.

"Nothing much, she just asked me to explain in detail what actually happened when you guys were not around" he says as his hands found its way to my waist.

"So what actually happened?" I asked, removing his hands from my waist.

He sighed.

"I met someone who saved me from the beast called Inka" he says as he gave me a peck on my forehead.

"You calling a spirit a beast"

"He is more of a beast than a spirit. Besides, he has dark energy" Ovie said.

I didn't really want to push into him meeting someone. I felt it was not necessary. Don't care if he met any fucking person as long as he is fine safe and healthy.

Ovie got back to lying on the bed, still staring at the ceiling.

"Naagin" Ovie called out.

"What is it?" I asked him, my hands fiddling with his hair.

"Can you come and sleep with me" Ovie requested.

His request really caught me off guard. What did he mean by me sleeping with him. For one thing I'm sure of,we sleep together in the same room and on the same bed. So, what does he actually really want.

"Ovie, I don't understand what you mean by saying that I should sleep with you" I told him.

"Just come closer to me Naagin" his hands held me firm, threatening to drag me close to him.

I lay on the bed, closer to him. He held my waist with my head on his chest. I had an awesome relaxation feeling as I lay there with him.

"I love you, Naagin. No matter the circumstances, always know that I look you" Ovie said into my ears.

I closed my eyes ready to allow sleep take over. Those words of Ovie must have really soothed me. It took me to sleep immediately as it came.

The Moon shone on the hut. Surprisingly, old lady Papirus was in her half snake form. Her red tail was a total contrast to the moon light. On her right hand, she held her staff. Staring at some group of bushes that could be seen on the hill, one would think that the old lady was hypnotized.

From the group of bushes, the black Cobra emerged. It was bigger than usual. It's large figure was three times of the old lady. HIJIRAR'S Jewel stood on the Cobra's head. The Jewel gave a golden glow.

Old lady Papirus bowed to the huge figure, paying her utmost respect to the figure. The black Cobra immediately turned into the dark shadow that had once spoke to the old lady.

"Lord HIJIRAR,I welcome you again to my humble home" the old lady said with a faint smile.

The dark shadow didn't move. It stared at the old lady like she was some demigod.

"Have you spoke to him?" The dark shadow asked.

"Yes, my Lord" the old lady answered.

"What did you tell him?" The dark shadow asked.

"I told him about who Naagin really was. I also took him to keep quiet about it" the old lady's voice was firm.

"My daughter has decided not to tell him the truth so it's better you do it for her. At least it would save her from the stumbling block in future days" the dark shadow chuckled at his own words.

"You are right Hijirar"

"I will visit her tonight while you will play your part. She needs to know HIJIRAR'S Prayer" the dark shadow says.

The old lady nodded. The dark shadow turned into the black Cobra form. It crawled down the hill. It's large stature created a path down the hill.

Old lady Papirus transformed back to her human form and her staff equally vanishes. She walked back to the hut expecting the dark shadow or perhaps Hijirar to visit Naagin.

It was a weird place. It was more like a temple cause a lot of statutes could be seen around. I recognized one of the statutes to be HIJIRAR'S statutes. How the hell did I end up here?

Naagin Naagin.

You are fucked up. How the hell did I end up in this temple?

Last I checked, I was lying down with Ovie when I fell asleep and now I'm in this creepy temple.

The HIJIRAR'S statutes had a pot in front of it. The pot was on top of an old table. Incense and some other fetish stuff were on the table. I looked around the whole temple, examining every nook and cranny of it. Large pillars held the temple. The temple doors were obviously closed and silence clouded the temple.

Fear suck up into me, taking every bit of me. Strangely, I was in my half-snake form.

"Dear one, do not be afraid" a hissing sound made me turn to the direction of Hijirar stature.

Great fear came upon me when the black Cobra crawled out of the pot on the table. The Cobra stood right in front of me giving a weird smile.

"Black Cobra" I muttered weakly.

The black Cobra immediately started glowing golden and it grew larger. It opened it's eyes and flashed me a smirk. It's larger size was three times larger than me. Surprisingly, HIJIRAR'S Jewel could be seen on the Cobra's head. The blue crystal seemed to glow golden as the Cobra got enlarged.

"Naagin, long time no see" the black Cobra hissed like we were friends.

I didn't say anything, I only stared at the Cobra, examining it from head to toe.

"Hey! Don't be afraid. I thought we were friends" it said very casually.

"We would have been friends if only you don't just show up with HIJIRAR'S Jewel on your head" I snapped back at the Cobra.

The black Cobra gave a mocking laughter.

"What makes you think I came here or what makes you think I brought you here?" The Cobra asked.

"Em..m. I don't know" I replied.

"That's because I came to grant you another gift again" the Cobra chuckled.

I sighed.

"I know you were the one that helped me save Ovie and I'm grateful for that. Especially for giving the power of transformation and the golden seed, plus letting me know about my destiny. I'm grateful for that but what do you want" I hissed loudly at my sayings.

"Naagin,I'm not here to listen to how grateful you are to me. Huck knows that you are the chosen one. I'm here to give you HIJIRAR'S Prayer" the snake explained.

An old scroll fell from the Cobra's mouth.

"Take it and name your enemies" the Cobra said his aura suddenly changing.

Name my enemies

Why should I name my enemies?

"Do it Naagin" it shouted at me.

Well I have nothing to lose.

I picked up the scroll and closed my eyes. Okay, name my enemies.

"Praise" I shouted which echoed through the silent temple.

A photo of Praise appeared in the air.

"The next one" the black Cobra snapped at me as Praise's photo disappeared.

"HUCK!!" I shouted.

A picture of Huck appeared in the air.

"Then the whole of Agbejor community"

"Don't worry Naagin, they will all fall down at your feet"the black Cobra said and continued. "But remember Naagin, HIJIRAR'S Prayer is a magical artifact,it must not fall into the hands of someone else. Also, the truth you seek will come sooner than expected"

The Cobra suddenly shrunk into it's normal size giving a golden glow.

"Wait, you just came here to give me this piece of scroll, made me to call my enemies and now you giving HIJIRAR'S Prayer" I found myself talking.

"You are Naagin, never forget that" the Cobra said as it slowly crawled into the pot leaving the trail of words.

Suddenly I vanished.
