Right then, Rhea knew she had to do something, even though she knew she should be afraid because she would be crossing a line, a dangerous one that may likely incurr the wrath of that dangerous king. But even after seeing how dangerous he was at the auction, excitement was the only thing she felt.
King Brande, after seeing how ruthless Levi was at the auction, and the way he had treated princess Chusi so coldly at the banquet, and seeing how his daughter's eyes were glowing whenever she looked towards him, had warned her very strictly, to be careful and not make the same kind of mistake princess Chusi made for the remainder of their time in the Azure kingdom. Since it was pretty obvious the King wasn't interested in any of the girls, It will be foolish if his daughter try anything silly and upset such a ruthless dragon at this point in time. His kingdom wouldn't be able to take the consequences.
Rhea had pretended to listen to her father but, in actual fact, had been discreetly keeping a close vigilance on Levi all the time. Although, she later noticed she wasn't the only one looking at him that way. Alot of others princesses too were oggling, but they were all too chicken to make a move after witnessing his very terrible treatment of princess Chusi.
She smiled to herself inwardly. She wasn't going to be as stupid as Chusi, who got herself embarrassed in the presence of everyone. She was going to try and be calm and seduce him subtly. She was sure he wouldn't be able to resist her charms no matter how cold he was. Afterall, every man has his own needs.
So as soon as Rhea saw him leave, she made sure no one was paying attention to her before discreetly slipping away from the banquet, and traced his steps up the stairs. After taking alot of turns, she found herself in a wide, beautifuly light and decorated hallway with red rugs running along the length of it. The walls were adorned with beautiful tapestries and portraits of the royal family and their lineage. On the ceilings were beautiful chandeliers casting the hallway in a beautiful light. Everything screaming wealth, royalty, opulence, and Rhea knew immediately she was in the right direction that leads to the king's quaters.
As she walked through the long hallway, she was grateful she has seen no guards as of yet but that also mean there's no one to ask about where the king's chamber was but she was in luck. Because, as she walked on, she saw two servants carrying trays of food. Seemingly on their way to deliver it to the King. Rhea hurriedly followed them.
When she got close enough, she asked "Is that for the King?"
The servants who are now at the king's door, looked at her as if she was an Alien that popped out of nowhere.
" Who are you?" One of the servants move to block her way and asked. They're sure they have never seen her before but they can already guess she must be one of the princesses at the ball and why she was sneaking around in this part of the palace.
It seems these princesses never learn.
" I'm princess Rhea of Naga and I'm here at the request of the King " Chusi lied blatantly without batting an eye. How else was she supposed to access the kings chambers if she didn't lie?
The servants looked at her skeptically for a minute. It's obvious she was lieing. " The King never invited any lady to his chambers before, princess. Why would he invite you?"
" Well, he invited me at the ball earlier because I have some important matters to discuss with him. So, unless you're willing to bear the blame for delaying this important information, you will do well to move aside and let me in" she replied with confidence. She had to act like she was really serious about what she was saying or they would not believe her.
The two servants looked at each other. It was a fact that was know to everyone in the palace that King Levi never invited any woman to his bedchamber. But they have also heard about his impending engagement too, and the fact that alot of other princesses has been invited as well, in other for him to choose from. And seeing as he has already embarrassed princess Chusi earlier, it's possible that he may have already choosen another one.
But how could it be this one? She can't even compare to princess Chusi in terms of beauty.
But if this princess was actually saying the truth about being personally invited or it happens that she was the one that has been really chosen by the king, that means it would not bold well for them later if they stop her from seeing the king now.
The the two servants looked at each other meaningfuly then parted ways for her to go ahead. Whether it's true or not, whatever happens later, they won't be staying to watch.
" I'll have that" Rhea said as she grab the tray of food from a servant who was too shocked to react in time.
" His Majesty wouldn't like that" the second servant said. Her face etched in a scowl. She could feel this princess was lieing about being invited but they don't have anything to prove her wrong.
" Why not? I will be eating with his Majesty tonight, he invited me, afterall."
Both servants close their mouth in surrender and knock on the door, announcing dinner.
" Come in " they heard the king's husky voice from inside and pushed open the door to the antechamber. Rhea followed them inside and put the tray of food down while the servants quickly retreated from the room leaving her to stand alone.
Rhea looked around and was stunned by the splendor and opulence of the room. Her father's back home wasn't as regal as this.
But before she had time to admire anything more, she heard a light footsteps approaching from the innerchamber and immediately tensed up.
This is the time!
She was finally going to meet the powerful King Levi in person! Excitement bubbled through her like a wave. She quickly adjusted her dress and ran a hand through her blond hair, wanting to look as beautiful as presentable as possible.
But she wasn't prepared for what happened next.
*******************************
Levi casually walked into the antechamber, and the strange scent assaulted him first. He paused in his tracks and found himself looking at something or better still, someone that shouldn't be in his room.
A girl? What the hell?
It's a damn girl! In. His. Room!
Wow! Perfect! Was he actually seeing things now? because this is definitely impossible.
He closed his eyes for a minutes and then opened them again. He wasn't seeing things. She's really there. Still there, standing in the middle of his antechamber, in a yellow figure hugging dress, face full of makeup, lips slightly parted as she breathed a little too fast, oggling at him with big brown glazy eyes as if he was some kind of dessert?
What the hell?
He thought he'd already escaped the leeches at the banquet? now what was this?
His face turned cold immediately. "Are you lost or something?"
This one has guts! She even dare to come into his chambers! What's wrong with this girls anyway? Why are they so desperate?
Rhea was too stunned to move. She'd prepared herself, she'd promised to be composed when she see him but seeing him up close for the first time was just too much, It was rapidly doing things to her ovaries.
Her hungry gaze drifted down from his Ethereal face to the slightly transparent silver night robe he wore. She could vaguely see the hard planes of his slightly hairy chest muscles with a glimpse of a glowing silver tattoo peaking out of it and the beautifully toned abs beneath.
Rhea gulped down her saliva. He was really tall, 6"ft 5inchs and muscled in all the right places.
No wonder Chusi had rushed after him and embarrassed herself today. I mean, How could a man this beautiful not make any female loose composure? Is he even for real?
Levi's expression turned extremely icy when he noticed the way she was looking at him. " Are you done oggling or do i have to sit down and let you make a painting?"
And that voice. It's alluring but also chilling cold at the same time. It brought her out of her dazed state momentarily. She hadn't even realized she had been oggling at him for so long. How could she be so stupid as to make that kind of mistake?
" I'm so sorry King Levi. I am princess Rhea of Naga. I..."
" I don't give a rat's ass about who the fuck you are. All i want to know is how the hell you manage to sneak your way in here? 'cause I'm pretty damn sure none of my trained guards would dare let a stray cat into my Chambers." Levi's voice was cold as ice. Cutting through the room like a knife.
When it comes to ladies like this, he doesn't have the patience to show mercy or give a damn about their feelings. They could go to hell for all he cares. But the fact that this particular one was brave and cunning enough to make her way into his personal space was already making him see red.
