Chapter 18: The Many-Headed Serpent Covered in Treasure!

  "Whew, finished him off."

Abbott gasped, this was the first time he'd used the Storm Style of the Godslayer Sword Art in actual combat.

The effect was as powerful as he had hoped.

Not only is it offensive and defensive, but it's also powerful.

Plunging his magic sword into the ground, he was just about ready to catch his breath and wanted to take a closer look at the cave.

Only a whoosh of cold wind could be heard coming from behind him, and Abbott immediately leapt backwards to avoid the blow from behind.

"Resurrected? No, it should be wound recovery."

He only saw that the corpse of the poltergeist was gone, and what appeared in front of him was the poltergeist with its head cut off.

Its eight heads once again spewed out venom in unison, as before, and there was no way to tell that its head had been chopped off before.

However, the previously severed head remains in place, indicating that Abbott's previous attack was not a hallucination.

Abbott immediately executed a Storm Style, blocking the venom and countering it back.

As with last time, the power differential was still there, and Abbott was quick to cut off his opponent's head again.

  "Dang!"

The heavy polydactyl body fell to the ground, but the same mistake Abbott wouldn't make a second time.

  Abbott ran toward the body.

Sure enough, the corpse of the multi-headed snake was slowly writhing, especially above the fallen head.

Countless densely-packed flesh buds were growing where they had broken off.

It looks like if we don't stop it, the multi-headed snake will make a quick comeback!

  Brush up!

The Devil Sword Evil Eye went down with a few swords, and those snake heads that hadn't yet been formed were cut down again.

But unfortunately, the other party is still growing really fast, it seems that ordinary physical means do not apply to this evil to the family of magic beasts.

Abbott knew the problem after a moment of contemplation.

So he raised his sword towards something like the other's seven inches and slashed.

In an instant, a myriad of boiling blood poured out and showered Abbott with it!

Sure enough, the opponent's weakness was this.

His kind of conventional thinking led him to assume that his opponent's weakness was his head.

But not really, the weakness of this multi-headed snake is in the internal parts of the opponent, which is often called the seven inches of the snake.

As expected, after this sword went down, the opponent's recovery ability immediately weakened and directly stopped.

"It really is an otherworldly world, and the creature is quite interesting."

Abbott, who was drenched in blood, wiped his face and said.

But then Abbott turns his head and realizes he's actually actively absorbing the blood of the multi-headed serpent!

The blood on his body was diminishing as far as the eye could see, and although he felt no discomfort, he was always startled.

A warm sensation hit Abbott, and Abbott's demonic body instinctively knew it was good.

He immediately pierced the belly of the other snake and burrowed in, allowing himself to absorb more blood!

  ...

Within moments, Abbott was out of his opponent's belly with a look of excitement on his face.

"I've really earned it, I didn't realize there was actually this kind of benefit."

Turns out the system shows Abbott has gained a new ability after absorbing his opponent's blood.

  Life Restoration! (Legendary)

Life Recovery: the host's demonic physique has gained a legendary level of recovery speed after absorbing the blood of a multi-headed serpent.

As long as Abbott's heart is undamaged, then he can recover from his injuries and regrow his limbs!

Abbott immediately attempted the Life Recovery skill.

He used his magic sword to cut his own palm.

A bone deep wound appeared on his hand, but the strange thing was that the blood left in the wound was very little, and it was recovering at a speed visible to the naked eye.

In no more than a few short seconds, the horrific wound returned to its previous, uninjured state!

Although there was still a shallow white mark, this white mark was also gradually fading and disappearing.

  "So strong!"

Abbott was taken aback when he saw the speed, was this how fast a poltergeist could recover, it was amazing.

But it was understandable, how could this multi-headed snake dominate this area alone if it didn't have some skills.

It was at this point that Abbott finally had time to check out the cave for real.

After the death of the many-headed snake, the poisonous fog inside the cave quickly cleared, allowing Abbott to see what was around him.

Abbott realized that the place where he and the many-headed snake had fought so furiously was merely the front end of this cavern.

And at the back end of the place when he entered, he realized that there was something else inside!

Various kinds of ores are embedded on all sides of the cave.

It looks like this is not just a mineral rich area, but the outer layer of an entire vein!

Continuing towards the inside, Abbott realized that in the midst of it all, there were quite a few more corpses, and it looked like the multi-headed serpent had been living in this part of the world for a long time.

And that's when a fishy odor caught Abbott's attention.

At a high point, Abbott discovers a nest made of various bones, from which the stench is coming.

Abbott flapped the black feathers on his back and flew up to see what was going on.

  "It is!"

Only three colorful eggs were lying in the nest.

Reaching out, he touched it and felt the scent inside.

  "All alive and almost hatched!"

It turns out that this multi-headed snake not only made this place its nest, but also laid a clutch of eggs here.

No wonder even though Abbott's strength was so much higher than his opponent's, Multi-Headed Snake would still fight him to the death.

Abbott didn't have that kind of saintly mother complex, though; after all, hundreds if not a thousand passersby had perished under this monster's attack.

So he has no guilt about it.

Collecting the three snake eggs, he put them into his storage space.

Abbott decided to hatch the three poltergeists himself after seeing how strong the poltergeist was.

After a while when these three multi-headed snakes have grown well, Abbott's men will be able to build with confidence.

Leaving the cave, Abbott calls for Onyxia and Will.

It was only after one man and a dragon had landed that Abbott informed of what was going on inside.

"What? You took out that divine beast all by yourself?"

Will was shocked to hear this, it wasn't that he didn't believe in Abbott's strength, but the reputation of the beast's prowess had long been ingrained in his mind.

"Yes, but the other party isn't a divine beast, it's just a Magical Beast that's almost advanced, if we let it grow its ninth head, then I'm afraid that even I won't be able to finish off the other party so easily."

  Abbott trailed off.

At this point, however, Onyxia's behavior was a bit strange to Abbott; it was as if she saw something she particularly wanted.

kept picking at the hole, trying to get in.

Unfortunately, the hole hadn't been expanded yet, and there was no way her lanky frame could have gotten in.

"Want to eat that multi-headed snake?"

  Abbott asked tentatively.

Onyxia rubbed her head against Abbott, indicating that Abbott was right.

Abbott then turned around and went back into the cave and joined the two Will's in dragging out the body of the multi-headed snake.

As expected, as soon as the corpse was moved out, Onyxia immediately pounced on it and devoured it.

Humming as he ate, like a puppy.

It looks like this stuff is a great tonic for her, too.

"This poltergeist is really all over the place!" Abbott exclaimed.
