Chapter 14

Today there is no archery practice schedule so I can sit on the bench from morning to evening. If it feels boring, I enjoy it because it's rare for me to experience a normal, boring life. If you think about it, normal life is boring and what's fun is when life doesn't obey the rules a little. It sounds like a naughty child but I'm a straightforward child many people think that I'm full of unpredictable actions. Yes, just like them. I don't want to worry about other people's opinions about me.

If you're curious about Nareswara, he's currently busy muttering and memorizing mathematical formulas so I don't need to worry about his mischievous nature. Transition hours like this, if not used for copying homework then for gossiping. Unfortunately, I'm too lazy to gossip because nothing is interesting about today's gossip.

"Nay, isn't it boring to be in class." I turned to a guy friend who was famous for being arrogant at this school. He often invites me to interact socially whenever I am in class or outside class. Very friendly like we are best friends forever till the end.

I exhaled. "Yes, especially seeing your face like this. It's very boring!" Everyone in the class who had been noisy suddenly fell silent.

No, they weren't silent because of what I just said, but because Nareswara had just sneezed. Everyone saw Nareswara, including me. There was nothing strange about the sound of Nareswara's sneeze, it was just that the sound sounded like the sound of a kitten. Surprisingly the sound of the sneeze was soft but it made the ears of the whole class turn towards it.

"Is he a puppy," Belva teased Nareswara, and suddenly, Belva received sharp looks from Nareswara's impromptu fans.

"He's not a puppy because he's afraid of dogs," I said and I regretted saying it because Nareswara, who had been focused on memorizing the formula, now stood up from his seat and looked at me sharply.

Of course, I'm not afraid of that gaze. Honestly, the look in my eyes was much scarier than Nareswara's. My opponent was once afraid when I accidentally looked into his eyes and in the end, the opponent lost the game because he was afraid of my eyes.

"Nayana," shouted Juno from behind the classroom door and it seemed that not only I was named Nayana but everyone in this class.

Senior Juno smiled when I saw him. "Read my message." Then he left after I nodded.

"Do you have a special relationship with him," asked an arrogant classmate. Oh yes, his name is Arsel, not Parcel or Pascal.

"Oh oh, has Naya moved on from Garvi," teased Darin, and I felt like punching her for carrying Garvi's name, even though the question wasn't wrong, my heart still ached.

"Stop gossiping, the math teacher will be coming into class soon," said Nareswara, who didn't know how long he had been out of class because his position was now in front of the classroom door.

When he passed me, he glanced at me for a moment then continued his walk and sat behind me, changing positions with Agnes. I suspect he seemed to have heard what Derin asked earlier or he had heard what Arsel asked me so he looked so annoyed. But, why is he upset? I don't have anything to do with him. Is it because he's afraid that I'll experience the same thing that Garvi did to me? Or, he's annoyed because he doesn't know anything about my life because I never told him. Yes, it looks like the last guess is correct.

I almost forgot what Juno told me earlier. I took my phone and opened WhatsApp to see the chat from Juno. My lips smiled because Juno told me to look at the basketball extracurricular this afternoon. Because he wanted to entrust something to Agha. Ah, Juno is the younger brother of Agha's lover so yes we are quite close.

My heart almost fell out when Nareswara's smooth hands grabbed my phone, then turned it off and pocketed my phone. "Are you crazy?" I scolded him.

"Hey, Nareswara, don't be rude to Naya," shouted Arsel and the boy stood up from his seat but a cough from the math teacher who had just entered stopped Arsel's movements.

At three in the afternoon, class ended. I rushed to the basketball court because I was going to meet Juno. Before that, I caught the figure of Nareswara rushing out of the classroom after returning my phone without saying a word while half running. It's okay because this is better than me arguing with him.

While walking towards the basketball building, I met a female senior who asked for Nareswara's phone number. I also said that Nareswara would prefer to ask for his phone number directly, not through an intermediary. Besides, I also don't have Nareswara's phone number because he never gave me his phone number, and neither did I.

"Juno," I shouted at Juno who was about to enter the basketball building carrying a dark blue sports bag. It's the same as my sports bag because it was a gift from Juno's sister, Agha's lover. The reason is so that we become familiar.

"Wait a minute," said Juno when I was in front of him. He reached into his gym bag to get something. "I'm leaving this for Agha. I'll leave it to you quicker because Agha and Moura are both busy working this week so it's hard to find them." Juno gave me a small paper bag and I accepted it and put it in my backpack.

"Thank you to your mother," I said to Juno and he just nodded.

"Okay, I'll be extra first then."

I nodded then turned around to walk towards the hallway that leads to the exit of the school building.

My feet didn't leave the school building, instead, I went to the library because I remembered that I had biology assignments. I need a book reference to complete the assignment.

The school library will close at five in the afternoon because after school there are still several students visiting the library. Including myself now. I'm looking for a biology book that I can use as a reference for doing assignments. After getting a biology book, I sat on one of the benches specifically for one person. I want to be alone without interference from other people.

I did half an hour of biology assignments and it didn't feel like it was almost five in the afternoon. Luckily the assignment was finished so I didn't have to bother staying up late to do the assignment. I tidied up my books and writing equipment then returned the books to the previous shelf.

Just coming out of the library, my cell phone vibrated and there was an incoming call from Zeina. I answered the call from Zeina and I was shocked when I heard the news that Nareswara and Garvi were fighting in the park near Zeina's make-up course.

I quickly ran after closing the cell phone and putting the phone in my school skirt pocket.

They are both my friends and I won't let them fight because it will hurt their bodies. Moreover, Zeina said that Nareswara mentioned my name and I'm sure it was because of me. Yes, Nareswara did this to punish Garvi's crime of hurting me.
