"Why don't you see me attractive? Do you love her that much?"
With a yearning look in her eyes, she asked pitifully.
Instead of answering, he emotionally blinked his eyes, adoring her charming blushing face, which was longing for his love for the first time.
"No! I can't let him." Woo-sunk was shouting at his grandpa, who was informing him about Kwan and Choi's Switzerland trip.
"She is my wife. How can he bring her there?" Woo-Sunk complained, raising his voice as Mr.Gu frowned at him.
"Aren't you her ex-husband now?" Mr. Gu imitated him with beaming eyes.
That irritated Woo-Sunk. He even regretted the moment he granted her divorce.
"It's already going to midnight. Eat this or die here." Mr. Gu said, he put dinner on the table and left the room, leaving Woo-Sunk to be frustrated as hell.
He showed the outrage on the plate, pushing it away. As rice scattered over the floor, he was breathing angrily, remembering his brother's warning back on his wedding day: "I hope you will share the love I want to give her. If you fail to do so, I will then."
As Choi hugged him and leaned her face over his shoulder, he remembered the moment he asked Choi when she was drunk in his place on the day of her 21st birthday.
[Back on the day of her 21st birthday]
Angry, mature-looking Choi knocked aggressively on Kwan's house door.
He opened the door for her. Even before he made words, she barged in and jumped on the sofa, turning on the TV.
Judging her mad-looking face and gulping the soju bottle at once, he asked, "Fight with Woo-Sunk again?"
Swallowing the last sip, she put the bottle harshly on the table, declaring furiously, "He has been going overboard recently!"
"Leave it." He said that and approached her.
"This love! Aish! Love is a sh*t if it is one-sided like mine." Choi expressed hatred and picked up another soju bottle.
Looking at her drinking a second bottle, Kwan mumbled longingly, "Why don't you see me attractive? Do you love him that much?"
That barely hit her ear while the soju was travelling inside her stomach.
After she gulped, she asked, "What did you say?"
Offering a fake smile, he shook his head and said, "Nothing."
[Back to the current]
Kwan chuckled briefly and mildly.
She pulled her face back and looked at him immediately.
He shut his mouth, eyeing her surprisingly.
"Why do you chuckle at me? Am I that ugly?" She groused with pouted lips.
"No!" He shook his head.
She raised her eyebrows at him questionably before asking, "Then why can't you find me more attractive than that girl?"
"Who said I don't?" He asked, putting his hand on her hip leisurely, causing her to blush more.
For the drunken Choi, that felt like a warm approach. She smiled happily and dropped her forehead on his shoulder shyly.
As Kwan thought that Choi was shy, it didn't take much time to realise that she wasn't really shy.
She vomited on his shirt, bent backward, and lay over his leg facing the ceiling, leaving Kwan to regret the romantic approach he had made earlier.
Looking at her lying weirdly, putting her one-foot heel on his head and another one resting on the floor, he couldn't help but sigh disappointedly.
After sliding her away a little, he mopped up her vomit. He then went upstairs, leaving her dozing off on the cold floor.
Inside the restroom, he was looking at himself in the mirror with a naked upper body. As Choi's sentence, 'Why don't you see me attractive? Do you love her that much?' echoed his head. He unconsciously dropped a glad chuckle and sensed the new charm in his face, which was saying he was in love.
He then came downstairs, putting on another shirt. However, he went directly to the kitchen, avoiding drunken Choi. There, he put a bot of water on the stove before coming and spotting her sleeping and hugging the sofa table's leg. Thereafter, he gently removed her clutch from the table leg and carried her in his arms. He then went to the room. While going upstairs, he was breathing slightly abnormally. Yet he didn't drop her down since he knew that was completely normal for the human to feel short of breath while going up and down alternately at the staircase.
Putting her lying on the bed, he came back downstairs again to take the hot pot. He was gasping like a sick person while going upstairs. Realising he was short of breath and couldn't take a step anymore, he stopped right there, dropped the towel, and placed the hot water bottle on the staircase.
Sparing some time to collect breath, he went upstairs again, taking the hot water bottle and the towel.
He then sat near her and began to wipe her sweating forehead. Yet he didn't seem to get his heart rate back to normal.
She clutched his wrist in sleep, mumbling, "Leave me, mama."
He forced her hand to lie down on the bed and continued to wipe her face with the wet cloth.
Just like that, his night went sleepless looking after Choi, who did shiver often in sleep, which was her side effect of drinking alcohol.
With weary eyes, he looked at the clock, reading 4:00 a.m..
Choi's body began to shiver again. His wet clothes-holding hand rushed to her forehead instantly, and then he rubbed her feet to raise her temperature. Only after witnessing her shiver-absent body did he go back to sit near her.
At last, the sun rose and exposed his dark, weary eyes, which demolished his handsomeness. He did lay next to her instantly after the sun rose since he had no energy to roll away from her.
As time passed, the fresh sun became familiar with the day. There were 5 missed calls from the grandfather and 4 missed calls from the manager.
The clock read the time as 9:00 a.m..
In the tranquil-filled, day-lighting, luxurious bedroom, Choi was napping, laying her head on his chest comfortably while his hands were resting on her back waist like he was hugging her.
The fifth call from his younger sister, Yejin, awakened Kwan.
He opened his eyes and squeezed them, yawning like he needed more sleep. He looked at his phone buzzing on the table, which diverted him from noticing Choi was sleeping on him.
He yanked and took it. His tiredness caused him to numb to feel the weight on his hands.
He picked up the phone and answered it. "Hello?"
Choi awakened after hearing his alluring, rough voice. He opened her eyes like a lightning strike, only to find she was in his arms. She paused her breath in shock and rolled away immediately, causing him to blink in conflict.
"Brother?"
As his sister was in the line, both Kwan and Choi were shocked, realising they had slept in the same bed the whole night.
"Ahhhhhhh!!!"
Kwan screamed instead of Choi. That screeched his younger sister, yeji's ear, and Choi blushed, ashamed to look into Kwan's eyes. She jumped off the bed and ran out of the room before Kwan finished his scream and asked her anything.
She rushed inside her room and shut the door. Leaning over the door, trying hard to remember the yesterday event. Except for the moment she hiccups, nothing comes to mind. However, he gave a sudden check stare to her body.
Only then did she sighed out relief. "We didn't," she told herself to console herself.
In his room.
"Did I fall asleep with her?" Kwan asked himself, remembering the moment he fell asleep.
"With who?" His sister, on the other end, curiously asked.
Recollecting the memory of how he dozed off next to her, he slapped his forehead, regretting, "Oh, sh*t!"
