She went to him. Crossing her hands across her chest and giving a bewildered stare directly at him drinking alcohol, she raised a question: "Why are you drinking all of a sudden?"
A few seconds passed, and no response was received. All she heard was Kwan's hiccup.
thereafter, she acted like coughing to get his attention. It worked. He looked up at her.
She froze for a second, and soon after, she witnessed his reddish eyes dripping tears.
"What happened?" She spilled her concern immediately.
He put the bottle aside, gripped her hand, and dragged her closer to him without even a second thought. As soon as his face pumped over her stomach, he hugged her waist and buried his face in her belly tightly.
She was speechless, and her hands were stumbling to approach him. A few seconds later, after becoming familiar with his warmth, she embraced his head.
"Is anything bothering you?" With a reluctant voice, she asked.
"Hmm," he nodded.
"What was that?"
He took back his hand and looked into her eyes before asking, "Do you really want to go back to Korea?"
"Yes," she quickly replied, recalling the moment he declared he would do anything for his sister.
He leaned back on the sofa, sighing hopelessly, as Choi observed his reaction.
"May I know why?" Kwan requested.
"Sure," she assured him, and she sat next to him. "I don't want to be anyone's second-most important person. And most importantly, I hate you showing sympathy for me." She explained briefly, leaving Kwan on the edge of confusion.
"These all look like sympathy to you." Kwan toned a little frustration.
"Exactly! If not, why did you say you would send me back to Korea for your sister?"
"T-that... If I don't use you, Grandpa won't leave her. That's why I said it like that." He enunciated the misunderstanding between them.
However, that didn't seem to clear her mind. "Still, you declared you would do anything for your sister. What if you treat me badly like your brother?"
"Did I say?" He inevitably asked, recollecting the memory of their conversation.
"Yes. I don't want that situation to come to me. Before that, I will distance myself." Choi asserted, despite the fact the fact that's what her heart wanted.
Kwan was frustrated as hell. Throwing a glance at her steady stare, he said, "I like my sister. Maybe I would've mentioned it like that."
"No, I questioned that separately, and you said yes." She jogged his memory.
Kwan couldn't find an excuse to explain the situation since he was a witness himself. "Is this the reason for your sudden change?" He asked seriously. That shook her heart a little because he asked like he was going to agree to send her back.
"Uhm... Y-ye... N-no....." She kept howling in a lower voice, not knowing what to do in this situation.
"If I say I want you to be by my side, will you be?" He let out his heart quickly, expecting a positive answer from her.
"What?"
She asked as if she were deaf to that.
"If I say I want you to be by my side, will you be?"
This time, he delivered it more tenderly and slowly. Yet his expectations raging eyes didn't fade, which melted her with no words.
"Is he drunk too much?"
"Does he really ask this with consciousness?"
"Is this a proposal or something?"
"No, he said he would do anything for his sister. What if she rejected me? Will he reject me for obeying her?"
"No, don't say yes. It must be a trap."
There are plenty of questions twirling around her head as she frozenly looks into Kwan's eyes.
"What do you mean by that exactly?" With disbelief, she queried.
Immediately, his eyes rolled down to her lips and he declared, "Do I really explain that?"
With a baffled look on her face, she nodded leisurely.
He moved his hands towards her face and cupped her chin, sending a shiver down her spine. His cold hand created goosebumps all over her body instantly.
She was still confused by his actions. "What is he going to explain?" She asked herself while his glistering, weary eyes were meticulously losing their way into hers.
He gradually moved his lips directly towards her lips and sucked her upper lips gently like a genuine man, causing her heartbeat to race and her wide eyes to spot him closing his eyes as his lips began to suck hers fondly.
"Kwanna is kissing me."
Her voice reverberated inside her mind while she was unable to make a decision.
He then took back his lips, leaving a last lip lick over her lips as if honey were drolling down from them. "I mean this," he proclaimed, breathless.
She was also gasping, and her mouth was wide open in shock.
"If you don't close your mouth, I will kiss you until the next day." He dictated, leering at her soft, wet lips.
She pursed her lips quickly and got a taste of the alcohol his lips had.
"You don't answer me yet," he reminded her calmly, knowing she wasn't released from the shock yet.
"K-kwan," her lips stumbled.
"Hmm," he said, giving her full attention.
"What does this mean?"
Hearing her confusion again, he couldn't help but sigh disappointedly.
"Nothing! Nothing!" Kwan stomped his words and had another gulp of alcohol.
"I asked what that meant," Choi repeated, snatching the alcohol bottle from him.
He gave an intense gaze into her eyes that slightly made her collapse her courage.
"I will send you back to Korea tomorrow. Go and sleep now." He divulged and snatched back the bottle.
She pulled the long face.
"Okay! You don't need to send me back. I can go by myself! After all, you have a girlfriend here. This is my stupidity, hoping it wasn't the friendship as I thought." She resonated and stood up.
"Choi! Who said like-"
*Ding Dong*
The doorbell caught their attention.
She lifted her toe to head towards the door.
Kwan stopped her and went to open the door.
He opened the door. It revealed Woo-sunk.
Kwan dragged an exasperation reaction straight away, while Choi gave a surprised look.
"Hi, brother!" Woo-sunk greeted him and went inside without waiting for Kwan's response.
Choi's finger shivered as soon as spotting Woo-sunk. She even felt her heart shudder as Woo-sunk came towards him.
He came, and standing in front of her, he waved his hand, saying, "Hi, my wife!"
Her eyes widened with aghast, she fainted and fell onto the sofa.
"Choi!"
Woo-sunk and Kwan both shouted. But Kwan was at a little distance to embrace her, unlike Woo-sunk, who was tapping her face and splashing some water.
It was the moment Kwan's mind realised something. "I'm still too far away to reach her." He told himself, looking at Woo-sunk and trying to wake her up.
