Chapter 26: WATER

Don't push it boy", Albert said looking down at Kim. Kim looked at him with eyes full of hate. He smiled. 'This boy is wasted here' he thought. The ground shook. Then, from the distance insanely huge mega trucks rolled by. Kim stared. He had never seen such a contraption before. 

 "Looks like we're almost done with your stupid village," Albert said mockingly. Kim grit his teeth 'its not stupid its my home' he shouted in his head for even his mouth wasn't working properly. Still, his eyes showed exactly what he thought which only served as amusement for Albert. "You've got eyes son, good eyes", Albert continued. His eyes then shifted to the trucks. " I must say that your village has survived rather well without us. Hiding yourselves by using ancient technology," he looked up. "That was a good idea and none of this would have happened if one of you boys didn't give water to that stupid brother of mine. You know cold water..." Kim froze, he wasn't listening anymore. All this was Thia's fault? No way!

"Iiiiimmmmmmwwwwwaaathhhrraaaa", he struggled to speak. Albert laughed. "Trying to speak,"? he said amused. He looked at the kid and thought,' how the hell do you have that in you and still be conscious?' Loudly he said," How about I give you a front row seat of the end of your lovely village,". He grabbed Kim's right arm and threw him over his shoulder. Again Kim tried to make his body move to no avail. He was slightly embarrassed by the way he was being carried like a sack of potatoes by this man he considered his enemy. "I'm about to display a thing considered impossible be a good boy and hold still", he said tightening the grip on Kim. He teleported.

 Shiru led the group into the main aqueducts section. This was a place where all the water used for the festival was kept. It was directly under the Administration Section and was one of the reasons why this section had no overhead travel systems. Alvin gaped in astonishment. Before him, huge clear water tanks stood silent. It was a beautiful sight. Alex jumped off the hovercraft and ran to one of the tanks. He touched its wall, it was cold. He turned and looked at Alvin, beaming. It was cold. They both shouted in unison. This was their ultimate goal and to think there was a lot of it made them even happier. Shiru just looked at them awkwardly. To her they looked like fools who just found an impossible treasure. She didn't know that what she considered a normal commodity, was in fact rare, an impossible treasure to the outside world. 

 However, a leza shot through her left shoulder brought the celebration to a standstill. Alvin bent low while Alex took aim and fired from where the shot had come from. A loud thud was heard. As if that was the signal, leza shots rained down on them from different angles. Somehow, the shots didn't hit the two unconscious boys and neither did it hit Alvin who had dived to the bottom part of the craft. Alex tried to hide and counter but, finding none, dived into the hovercraft's shadow and found Shiru already there. He rolled onto his back and cocked his gun. He only had ten rounds left and the rest of the bullets were in the other hovercraft. 'Damn' he cursed mentally. They just tasted the treasure and now there were people stopping them from getting it.

 Suddenly all was silent and the leza shots stopped. Just what was happening? " Amazing", said an all too familiar voice said. Alex got out of the shadow and Alvin looked up. It was Albert. He stood there with Kim on his shoulder, staring intently at the huge tanks of water. 'This was more than he expected. Alex rolled out of the crafts underbelly and stood up. He looked at his boss and smiled. There was no way he could lose after all he was the very definition of monster. Loudly he said," This is amazing. We might not even finish it with all the trucks we have brought," he said hardly hiding the excitement in his voice.

 Albert threw Kim into the back of the craft, reuniting him to his friends. He then walked closer to one of the tanks wall and, just like what Albert had done, touched it. It was cold. He turned excited looking at Alvin, " Way to go Alvee! You've succeeded in finding the water ," he said going towards his little brother. Shiru sat in the corner bewildered. 'What was he saying'? she thought as she held her left arm in pain. There was a hole in it whimpered and hid herself trying to get away to no avail. The pain was too unbearable. Tears fell down freely on her face as pain coursed through her entire body. " Now then little brother let's fetch it all. Shiru was shocked ,all? 'They're gonna take it all? what about the village. Suddenly she wished she hadn't shown them where the water was. Kim also looked at Albert angrily. They were going to take all the water and no one would stop them.

 This could be the end of the village.
