Daemon's voice had been low, as if he was not really talking for anyone else to hear, or about anything or anyone in specific. Faced with Cynthia's confusion, he didn't explain himself, and he didn't elaborate. He unfastened his seatbelt and opened the doors of the SUV:
"Let's go."
With that he got out of the car. Cynthia was bewildered, and she looked at the file she had yet to finish reading. But she could only follow, so she also unfastened her seatbelt and got down.
Before she could close the door of the car, it came down automatically, surprising her, and forcing her mind to shift away its focus from the unfinished report for a while.
Still, with the car locking itself, the blonde turned to look for Daemon. He had moved around the car, and he was walking in a direction that could not be said to be surprising.
