But can what has been forsaken be gained back? Because now Evelyn, the one to have breathed vitality in his numb, orphaned heart, had her own life, and a little boy calling her mother. And while he left his life full of dead bodies behind, did that life really let him go?

As Daemon left the hospital and got into his car, he didn't start it immediately. He took his phone, which was connected to the onboard computer, and made a call. It rang for a moment, before it was picked up.

"Blandon, have my appointment with Ethan Green postponed to tomorrow."

Blandon paused, surprised, but he reacted fast enough:

With that, Daemon cut off the call, and started another one. This one was picked up a little more slowly, and confusion showed in the voice that rang in the next moment:

"Daemon? Is something the matter? I heard that you went out soon after we got to the office."

Evelyn's words made Daemon remember that he didn't let her know when he went out this time, as he barely spent any time in the office before leaving again. He didn't linger on the matter, simply keeping in mind to be more considerate in the future.

"I am coming to take you out. Get ready."
