But can what has been forsaken be gained back? Because now Evelyn, the one to have breathed vitality in his numb, orphaned heart, had her own life, and a little boy calling her mother. And while he left his life full of dead bodies behind, did that life really let him go?

Love from the ashes

Earlier, when Mrs Softsnow had been looking for her daughter, the latter had been in the parking lot a short distance from the entrance of the hospital. But she had failed to spot Evelyn before the latter had gone into the gray SUV parked there, and unfortunately, even normal windows were difficult to see through under the light of the sun, much less the ones Daemon had had Ryan use on his car.

As the three inside the car fastened their seatbelt, and before Daemon could start the engine, Evelyn's phone had rang. That was when Mrs Softsnow had returned inside the hospital, full of disappointment, while Evelyn had still been there. They had been separated by a few dozen meters, but the distance had been like a moat created by fate. And only it would know what would have come out of their meeting, had they met.

Evelyn looked at Dinaia's name on the screen of the phone, and picked up the call with a smile:
