The familiar metallic gray SUV stopped at the entrance of a just as familiar building. It was close to the end of the afternoon, but some were privileged to end their day sooner than others, or even when they wanted.
Evelyn hurried out of the building, her steps sending ripples through her body that attracted attention. But even among those lecherous enough around, there was none bold enough to leer at her, not when she was looking so out of leagues for most, and she was walking toward a car that most could not afford.
She passed by the back of the car, and went to sit beside the driver as the door that had gone up for her came back down automatically. She smiled at Daemon, looking no different from usual. Still, her fiance's eyes lingered on her a bit, before he responded to her smile and drove away, starting a conversation at the same time:
"How was the visit to the factory today?"
