Jennifer ran out of the house at full speed before stopping. She turned to look back, her expression becoming complicated, before she ran into the distance, toward the house where her mother was, the house Daemon had bought for her.
Jennifer bit her lips, and pushed those thoughts aside. Her gaze, as she looked forward, mirrored the complex emotions in her heart. She knew that she had only survived because Evelyn was alive, and out of harm's way, and also because the true target of her betrayal had not come under harm's way.
