Chapter 27: A New Plan

The following day, Rory woke early, hungry for his bottle. Angela, having caught up on her work and her sleep, happily padded out of bed and poured one for him. He turned his head and grinned at her as she approached his crib, the shade of his blue eyes striking even in the early morning light.

Angela's heart swelled with love at the sight of her bright, happy baby. She smiled back at him, running a hand through his silky auburn hair. She loved how his curls cradled his face, framing his chubby cheeks. Rory giggled, wrapping his arms around her neck as she lifted him from the crib.

He was growing fast, no longer the lightweight she carried on one hip for so long. Now she needed both arms to secure him against her body. He'd be tall one day, just like Griffin.
