‘’Marry me.’’ 

Leona glared at the man who had the audacity to say those words, ‘’I can’t wait to kill you and you have the audacity to ask me to marry you. Aren’t you afraid I would kill you when you are sleeping?”

‘’I don’t mind.’’ 

‘’Get lost!’’ she snapped. 

A few days later: 
The man lowered his head, looking deep into her eyes, his gaze sincere, ‘’Marry me.’’

Leona looked at the man speechlessly and waved her hand, ‘’You are my ex-husband.’’ 

Although they were on better terms now, but there was no way they were getting romantically entangled ever again. 

An eternity later: 
‘’Won’t you marry me?” 

Leona looked at the man who was standing at a little distance from her, tears brimmed in her eyes as she spoke, ‘’I am in a pathetic state and I might implicate you too. I don’t know what’s happening to me and I don’t know what the future holds. I don’t even know who I am or what my past is…’’ 

The man covered the distance between them and wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her closer, ‘’Do I look like I care?” 

As his words fell, her lips were captured in a fiery kiss that knocked the breath out of her.

Leona continued struggling on the bed, her fingers clenched the sheets. When she was in so much pain that she could not endure it, she struggled and flipped on her stomach before she bit the pillow in her mouth. Her eyes turned red and her body seemed to be breaking inch by inch under the excruciating pain.

She almost passed out from the unbearable pain but just as her eyes started closing, she endured it stubbornly and clenched her fists as she turned her face to the side.

And in the next moment, she was astonished as she the reflection of a golden glow hovering around her body in the window glass.

Her eyes turned wide in disbelief.

But before she could think anything, the pain in her body intensified and she sucked in a cold breath.

Leona did not know for how long she struggled to stay awake and alive but after what seemed hours, the pain in her body gradually disappeared.
