Devastation

When the Ancient Supreme Devils arrived in Evergreen, they set up a communication link in no time, and then they scattered across the entire world in different armies.

Each army had either an Ancient supreme or an Elder supreme leading it.

They were feeling out the world, trying to figure out where the entrance to the world core was.

In the process, the Devils slaughtered whatever was in sight in order to grow stronger, but they also restrained their abyssal energies in order not to taint the world before retrieving the world core.

If they were to taint the world, it could taint the world core, which would make the Lord of the Abyss very displeased. No devil in their right mind would want the lord of the abyss angry; it could only lead to catastrophe for billions of lifeforms in the abyss.

While the devil armies were leaving devastation in their wake, the powerhouses of Evergreen were in motion.

They formed small teams or set out individually.

All of the powerhouses of Evergreen were in motion, literally all of them, even the pope.

The sword god was protecting the uncharted lands.

The three venerable ones were traveling alone. The three strongest force users after the sword god were eager to find a challenge. They each went their own way, heading towards targets they all chose prior to setting out because they could sense the extreme abyssal pressure coming from the Ancient Supremes. Even the Elder Supremes couldn't catch their eyes; they wanted to face the strongest, and only the strongest of the enemy camp.

The Cursed Knight, the Living Fortress, the Bow Saint, other knights, saints, priests, and even some demigods all were on the move. They formed different squads and teams in order to face the armies of the devils that had devil lords and supremes within them.

....

While all of this was happening Horo was just stepping out of his training. Even after he felt the arrival of the devils he continued to train because he was close to making a breakthrough that would put him in a different tier of power.

Horo had yet to become a Sacred Knight, but he had long exceeded the normal limits of the translucent step, he was now a tier twelve translucent.

But that wasn't the break through that set him on a higher level.

He was able to project all of his paths of power onto his spirit, making that the core of his power while merging the progression of every path. On top of that his soul seemed to have a massive change due to this breakthrough because it shared a delicate and unique relationship with his spirit.

Now with just a thought he could cultivate every path at once.

He wonder where his power level ranked among the strongest beings in Evergreen. I knew he'd soon find out.

He set out to help resist the devil forces, while the pope was preparing to put a complete stop to the abyss entering their world.

....

No one in Evergreen knew exactly what the devils wanted, nor did any of them know of the world core.

While the devils were slaughtering and destroying, the Supremes was actually using all of their means to find the world core's entrance.

The funny thing though, the supremes were unaware of the pope's plan to close the world gate leading back to their home, the abyss.

Him and many arch bishops were stationed at many locations around the world, setting up and strange formation shown to the pope through a vision granted from the higher gods. They were being protected by saints and wandering powerhouses while they worked diligently.

....

An Ancient Supreme was currently nearing the entrance to the world core, as he could sense it, but he also could sense a powerful creature guarding it.

This Supreme was standing in the sky, with its lanky body and Kudu like long horns. Its night blue eyes stared below, piercing deep into the ocean to gaze at the creature guarding an enormous trench.

The creature gazed into the devil's eyes as it was powerful enough to see the enemy even through the dense ocean water.

This behemoth whose eyes looked like giant lakes, was one of the first creatures to exist on Evergreen. It is one of the Father's of primeval beast, The Kraken.

The Ancient supreme scoffed, folded its arms, and spoke in devil tongue.

"A small vermin like you dare gaze into the eyes of this supreme, Valdramelech the Eternal Corruption, Supreme of Curses."

The creature could still understand this foreign language because the devil used soul communication, but this wasn't good because these foreign words carried an ancient power that touch its very existence.

The Kraken felt pain in its very soul, and its instincts made it react violently.

Its primeval aura flared this entire section of the massive ocean began to boil.
