When all of the devils felt the aura of the abyss vanish, their primal instincts took over, and the weaker ones even lost consciousness.
They lost consciousness, but their instincts took over and birthed strength they couldn't bring out with their own will. The stronger devils didn't lose consciousness, but those same instincts worked for them and granted them strength beyond their limits as well.
There was only one exception, Sinvanganza.
She fell to her knees as she lost hope.
The Fist venerable stood over her, looking down.
He said, "Are you finally feeling the same feeling you guys made entire worlds feel?"
She looked up at him and glared, with no light in her blood-red eyes.
He continued, "No need for you to lose hope, though. I actually need a sparring partner. You could stay with me if you like."
The light she lost in her eyes previously now sparkled like the sun. But then, she lowered her head again.
She spoke, "No one in this world will accept me."
The Fist venerable laughed as hard as she did when they first encountered.
He retorted with a ridiculous amount of confidence, "With my strength, who will go against me? As long as I accept you, that's all you need."
"This is my gift to you, for making me bleed again after so long," he said with a smile that shined like the sun in her eyes.
He extended his hand, and she stared at it. He gave her a nod of approval, and she grabbed his hand. He covered them with his domain, and they vanished.
While the Fist venerable was committing a taboo, probably becoming the first to ever do something like this in the entire cosmos, by accepting an Ancient supreme devil and giving her hope, all other devils lost their minds without hope.
....
All of the battles that were raging across the landscapes intensified by tens of times, and some were even overturned by the devils after the instinctual takeover.
Two of them to be overturned were major battles, one being between a venerable and an ancient supreme, the other being between a special character, Horo, and an inherent supreme.
The spear venerable, also known as the "Devastating tornado", was easily handling the ancient supreme of curses prior to the closing of the world gate. Now, after all of the devils received this weird power-up caused by desperation and inborn instincts tied to the abyss, the supreme was able to gain an edge.
This was due to the suppression effect of the spear venerable's domain becoming nonexistent.
The spear venerable domain was even being corrupted by some strange power of this supreme. It was some kind of night blue aura.
The spear venerable was having trouble with this ferocious devil at the moment, but he wasn't troubled because he hadn't used his trump card yet, but he was sure such a being hadn't either.
....
Horo, who was originally battling on equal grounds and even suppressing the supreme he was facing, was now wounded terribly and struggling to keep up with this frantic devil.
He was even missing chunks of flesh and a couple of fingers. It wasn't only the power-up of the devils that put Horo at a disadvantage, there was the actual difference in power levels. Horo's battle power is far beyond his level and even the quality of his energy, but his reserves could never compare to those of the supreme devil level, god level, and venerable level. Even the first-generation primeval beasts could outlast Horo in a battle of stamina and energy reserves.
Horo was on his last straw, and just as he was about to use his trump card, a pillar of sacred golden light smashed into the supreme devil that was thrashing him.
When the dust settled, the devil was sprawled out on the ground with no light in his eyes. A huge hole in its chest, with remnants of golden-red flames that looked heavily glazed and littered with miniature white dots. Its soul was even purified with the strike that hit it.
Horo felt the energy of the being who released the supreme-ending strike, and showed a huge smile before speaking.
"I hadn't gone all out yet, but it's good to see you're out of your slumber of ascension, Father."
Indeed it was Horo's father, standing in the sky with his golden armor covered in those same glazed flames. He had a golden long spear that released a holy brilliance.
Supremes were technically stronger than demigods, but this was a fresher supreme and Horo's dad was an exception.
His special glazed flame technique was created by his ancestor who also happened to be an archbishop. It had a natural effect of restraining evil. On top of that, his divine inspiration specialized in the destruction of evil; it was literally called Evil Piercer.
All of that partnered with his saint-level spear skills and force, he is the perfect antithesis to devils, thus leading to him killing this devil while simultaneously purifying it in one shot.
He didn't know this would lead to dire consequences for him and his son.
....
Back near the world core entrance, where the ancient supreme and spear venerable were battling, space was now blurred within a two-kilometer radius.
This was because the venerable had used his trump card, "True Domain Manifestation".
It dragged Valdramelech and himself into his own private space akin to a miniature world. It was much larger inside than the blurred range it left outside looked.
Valdramelech was bleeding profusely, and he had miniature holes in many vital spots. The worst part was he couldn't replenish any energy due to being trapped in this place.
He was surrounded by fierce giant tornadoes composed of spear force that were enhanced by the domain.
All of the supreme's energy attacks were extremely suppressed and couldn't even reach the venerable; furthermore, his physical attacks were also suppressed while all of the venerable's abilities were boosted tremendously.
As the spear venerable slowly walked toward his enemy to deal the finishing move, he suddenly noticed a change in the devil's vibe.
Next, There was a deep thump that came from the devil's body, and it made the entire domain inverted, colors and everything else.
After that its kudu horns began shining with a dark light as night blue aura began leaking from them.
The spear venerable meant to make a movie but for some reason he couldn't.
The ancient gripped its right horn and then spoke in a deep, dreadful tone.
"In the name of the lord of the abyss and the abyss itself, I Valdramelech the Eternal Corruption, Supreme of Curses sacrifice half of my power along with this horn to curse all descendants of the one who has slain mine."
He spoke these words in the language of the abyss while invoking his most secret technique related to cursing.
After doing so he broke the horn off with no issue, and it easily pierced the domain and shot in a certain direction.
Next he spoke again.
"In the name of the lord of the abyss and the abyss itself, I Valdramelech the Eternal Corruption, Supreme of Curses sacrifice my body to the previous world gate present in this world for my soul to return to the abyss.
After finishing the second chant his body turned into the same night blue aura before shooting off in another direction.
After the sequence of instances the spear venerable finally blinked, and everything was back normal. He was standing inside his true domain amidst the ferocious tornadoes of spear force.
After retracting his domain he got an extremely terrible feeling.
....
Horo and his father was chatting a bit because they cleared their battle field with ease after disposing of the supreme.
Suddenly Augustus made a move which startled Horo, but even he wasn't fast enough to stop what he sensed.
A dark light smacked Horo directly in the forehead causing him to immediately fall back.
