..
"..that idiot lost.", A voice in Gosgutu's apartment-room says with a twinge of casual rage and embarrassment.
Gosgutu's apartment-room is a mostly open space. The broad sitting room comes with a setting that's linked to a dining space which is inturn linked to a small traditional bar and then to a wide martial gym section.
Currently in Gosgutu's dorm-apartment, there are five martial seniors present. The most recent speaker in the apartment is currently sitting down on a single couch in the sitting room with the most lazy posture.
A set of throwing-darts lays in-between the man's fingers and occasionally, he would casually target a throw at the dart-board hanging on the wall.
Casually weighing-up another dart for a throw, someone speaks while causing the man to pause on his throw.
"Would you lose to him?.", A voice from the dining section rings out while causing the man on the single-couch to raise a brow as he's clearly a bit put-off by the question.
The person who has asked the question is currently sitting on a chair in the dining table with a game board in front of him instead of food. This martial senior has his eyes on the board as he is playing a game of martial chess (Xiangwi/Chinese chess) with another martial senior who seems way less interest in the game despite obviously winning.
"Not even if I was two years younger.", The man(Arlo) on the couch replies to his friend's upsetting question as if it is the most obvious thing in the world. Replying, Arlo casts a slightly upset look towards the dining section while displaying just how fickle martial seniors are when it comes to the comparison of their martial might.
"Then you shouldn't be speaking on the fact that he lost.", The other party at the dining table(Mervander) says while moving a wooden piece across the traditional chess-board with a little scracth.
"What shoud he be thinking about then?.", A female martial senior(Yamuna) who is coming from the bar section asks while carrying with her a traditional wine bottle as well as a small bronze cup in her hands.
"About who defeated Marien.. rather than the fact that he got defeated.", Mervander responds and once more, his words upsettingly makes a lot of sense to all involved.
"Navi¡.", A unique masculine voice suddenly comments with this singular word silencing the conversation for a moment.
Every single person in the apartment turns their gaze to the gym section and right at that moment, a monster of a martial senior lets go of the pull-up bar while literally dripping with sweat.
Taking in a deep cold breath before letting out a very hot one, Tora Gosgutu looks towards the side of his pull-up bar for a moment. On a small stool by the side of the pull-up bar rests a wooden timer.
In broad figures of black, the wooden timer beeps lightly while carrying the numbers.{1:00:00hr}. This simply means that Tora Gosgutu has been doing pulls-ups for one straight hour!.
Gosgutu is not one to ever be interested in petty talks or rumours so his friends hearing him comment on their banter comes as quite the surprise. He even knows the kid's name.
"You're done with your work-out.", Mervander says while breaking the silence as his gaze rests on Gosgutu's sweaty, muscular yet slim back.
Giving Mervander a light sideway glance, Gosgutu nods lightly in response to the question.
"How many did you manage to do this time?.", Yamuna asks Gosgutu with quiet sense of curiousity in her tone.
Ignoring the question this time, Gosgutu walks to a hanging bar where he pulls off a cold towel to mop his body.
"Two thousand four hundred and eleven.", A casual voice responds to Yamuna's question. The person playing martial chess against Mervander(Vèdan) finally speaks since the beginning of the conversation. Raising his head, Vèdan seems to have been keeping track of Gosgutu's exercise as he looks towards Gosgutu's back with a sense of deep respect.
"That's over three hundred above his previous record.", Yamuna's says with a sense of wonder in her tone as she sits on a couch in the sitting-room before casually setting her wine and cup on a stool.
"He broke that record yesterday.", Arlo says with a shake of his head as he thinks of Gosgutu's monstrous martial powers. Letting out a sigh, Arlo throws a dart accurately into the center of the dart-board on the wall.
"And he broke yesterday's record today..", Vèdan continues Arlo's words while turning his gaze back to the game-board cause Mervander has made his move.
"..by over a hundred.", Vèdan completes his own statement with the facts in his words sending the room to silence once more.
Hearing Vèdan's words, Yamuna blinks before looking towards the indifferent Gosgutu as a word echoes through her mind.. 'Monster'.
Completely uncaring about their words, Gosgutu wipes his sweat clean with the cold towel before speaking once more.
"I am curious about that kid.", Gosgutu says calmly with his words up for ponder amongst his friends.
"..Do you want to recruit the kid?.", Vèdan calmly asks as he makes a move across the board that causes Mervander to flinch with a frown.
A few seconds passes as Tora Gosgutu makes his way to the bar.
"It depends.", Gosgutu replies with a heavy voice as his right hand silently reaches out to a bottle of cold sprit water.
"..On what?.", Vèdan asks with his eyes on the board as Mervander makes a move with slightly gritted teeth.
A few seconds pass with Gosgutu casually opening up the drink in his hand and then..
*KNOCK¡*..
*KNOCK¡*.
Two slow knocks resounds on the apartment's main door and then, the door is pushed open with the need for a response.
Turning towards the door with a slightly raised brow, Gosgutu looks at the new arrivalbwith his cold gaze softening a barely noticable bit.
Motana Winslet.
Somehow, this woman has come to hold a very special place in Gosgutu's heart.
Gosgutu remembers when he had just met her six months ago. She's not the usual kind of woman he would usually go for but something about the defiance in her eyes made him want her.
She's someone who's obviously hungry for power and thirsty for influence. Her cravings are so obvious that Gosgutu spotted that blazing fire in her at first glance.
People like her(Motana Winslet) are easy for someone like him(Tora Gosgutu) to get. Gosgutu knows how to control people like her. Show them just how far up they can reach if they grab onto your foot and watch their own ambitions do the rest.
Yet, she proved different.
She(Motana) was obviously tempted by what he(Gosgutu) had but she so fiercely refused to let herself fall for temptations.
For some reason Gosgutu cannot understand till today, Motana had rejected him without more than three seconds of consideration!.
Shocked.. is an underestimation for what Gosgutu had felt from Motana's rejection. The ambition in her eyes are so obvious so why has she refused to use the elevator he could provide?.
After rejection, Gosgutu is a man with dep pride yet he finds himself wielding purple-coloured flowers to Motana just three days later. For two months Gosgutu had courted Motana and for two months, he faced resolute rejection.
Gosgutu would have given up on her but the heavens seemed to have sensed his genuine feeling and gave him a hand.
A death duel against a stronger opportunity!.
That had been Gosgutu's chance to have Motana. At first she only agreed to be his in order to survive though now, the way she looks at him as changed.
Gosgutu has finally gotten Motana to reprocicate a part of his deep feelings for her.
Taking a big gulp of cold spirit water directly from the bottle, Gosgutu wacthes as Motana walks in.
Hearing the sound of the door opening, Vèdan takes his face off the game-board. He looks towards Motana and then he suddenly frown as a puzzle begins to click into place in his mind.
"..the sur-names.", Verdan whisper distractedly.
Frowning a bit, Verdan seems to have realized something though something is still out of place to make the big picture he is imagining. With a small frown still on his face, Vèdan looks towards Montana but then he shrugs and focuses back on his game.
If what he is picturing is real then things would get interesting very fast. With this though in mind, Vèdan makes a casual move along the board of martial chess while causing Mervander to frown with confusion. Leaning forward, Mervander stares at the game-board as if trying to study a subject he doesn't understand.
