"You can't just say something like that!" Adeline hissed, covering his mouth with a hand as if he was insane.

Elias simply gripped her hand, and laughed out loud once more. He shook his head in amusement and pulled her palm away from his face.

"What else should I say or do when you behave so shamelessly?" she retorted, attempting to pull her hand free.

Elias tightened his grasp on her wrist, placing it next to her head. Considering whether to feed on her again crossed his mind. But then, glancing at the clock, he deemed it was time for her to sleep.

"It's not being shameless when I'm telling the truth." Elias released her wrist and sat up. He shifted away from the blanket, pulling it towards her collarbone.

"Sleep now," he ordered.

"No."

"Adeline."

"I'm not that sleepy." Sitting up, Adeline clutched the blanket to her chest. She tightly held onto it, her gaze falling to the floor where her clothes lay scattered.
