Humble

Over the course of the first two weeks, Travis has sold off most of the corpses and useless resources he found in the Trade tab. With the corpses that were no longer used for necromancy as products, he managed to gather about 2,000 credits the currency of Mira's home realm.

Travis has been putting off the use of the magical weapon ticket for a while now, since a thousand or so credits could get him a high-tech weapon similar to Mira's Bo Staff. Her staff was a channel for both mana and internal energy which makes it suited for someone like her. Guns from Mira's realm also use mana, which makes them far more potent than the guns that are used in his local reality.

Mana was far more moldable than Internal energy and is a power source that various other races use for combat.

"The solar-powered batteries seem like the best thing I can get here, it will help in powering the fridge as well." Travis spent about 1,200 credits on the following items: A solar battery, an actual bed and a small drone. He spent about 500 more on materials for Mira's leg to maintain its functionality.

With only 300 credits left he decided to leave it for now, it was time to get a magical weapon. He didn't have all the time in the world, which is why he picked the best sword with the best effect he could find.

[Broadsword of Leonidas]

This sword was once owned by a king. It is a powerful channel for internal energy and has the ability to bolster the wielder's defense twice a day. The duration of this bolstered defense is dependent on the internal energy used.

After his encounter with Linda, Travis has been a bit more vigilant with his base. Nowadays Ara patrolled the area while Mira was on supply runs. Travis himself would be patrolling the vicinity every 3 or 4 hours just to make sure that no one was present.

The random portals would summon new creatures every now and then but Ara would normally be enough to take them on. The time to summon the fourth companion would soon come as the 3rd week of the new era approached them.

Travis now had a notebook filled with the information that he gathered from Linda, information regarding the Prison, William's camp and the Ahagins from the north. He also took note of some of the large red portal that was in the heart of the city. The portal is said to have summoned a few lesser giants, which makes it one of the largest threats when the 1 month grace period ends.

Inmates, normally do whatever they can to pass the time. Activities like exercising and doing a bit of sports is part of their daily routine. They had the perfect bases for internal energy, added to that was the fact that most if not all of them were at the Intermediate Iron-grade right from the start. They boast the highest amount of survivors in the city, with a total of 317 survivors they have more survivors than even the now defunct disaster shelters.

Their strongest members are in the Elite Bronze-grade while more than 50 are in the Intermediate Bronze-grade. Their numbers alone is enough to deter even the more powerful factions of non-locals. They have established themselves as a powerhouse, but despite their efforts a clash between them and the necromancer from the south was becoming inevitable.

In another timeline they could have become pioneers of the new era, but in this one their flames would be extinguished by a single Dark Elf.

William and his crew watched as the dark elf took over the prison.

William finally realized the difference between him and the necromancer, he was forced to reflect on his own hubris. "I was far too arrogant, we can't keep protecting everyone forever. Ronald, tell everyone to prepare themselves. We're making our exit, rush north! We're going to the next city."

William Nguyen who seemed to be an unmoving rock just a few days ago, changed his mind rather quickly upon seeing the power of his impending foe first-hand. "Linda was right, I was far too arrogant in the ranking I received. So what If I'm decently ranked compared to other locals... we're fighting those that have had access to the multiverse for dozens, maybe even hundreds of years. I need to pick my battles, fighting against that thing is impossible for me right now..."

"But at some point in the future, if I can just get more books and get more training I know that I'll be able to do it." William learned his place but he also knew that he still had much more room to grow. Knowing when to run is also a skill that's necessary for one's survival, his belief in himself was still there but to fight a losing battle is something akin to courting death itself.

For William's group the next few days would be spent on escaping the city while preserving a few vehicles full of supplies. Out of the 32 that set out, only 24 would escape the city alive. While William did fear that it would happen, he also knew that it was a loss that was necessary for the rest of them to survive. Keeping non-combatants in the new era is simply far too risky especially since there were only a few actual fighters in his ranks.

"Will, The road ahead is mostly clear. Keep the van going." It was a chat message from the recon team.

Almost three weeks into the new era, William would lead his group to the north. While they had no idea about the threats that were waiting for them, William was at least confident enough in his allies that survived the trek. With at least 5 companions in the Intermediate Bronze-grade, his group was by no means weak. Sitting on top of the van he flipped through the trade tab, waiting for a cheap Martial book to trade for.
