Chapter Ninety Nine

"Your Grace," a voice said, filled with a mixture of fear and defiance.

Ryan turned to see Davis, his eyes filled with a cold fury. He knew that Davis was trying to reason with him, to stop him from hurting Isabella. But Ryan was blinded by his anger and his desire for revenge.

"I don't care," he said, his voice low and menacing. "She will pay for what her mother has done."

Davis hesitated, his heart pounding in his chest. He knew that Ryan was capable of anything, and he was afraid of what he might do.

"Please, Your Grace," he pleaded, his voice filled with desperation. "Think about the Duchess. She loves her sister. She would never forgive you if you hurt her."

Ryan hesitated, his mind racing. He knew that Suzy loved her sister more than anything in the world. If he hurt Isabella, he would lose her forever.

He lowered the whip, his hand trembling slightly. He had made his point, and he didn't want to go any further.
