NORMANI

I saw him. I freaking saw him. It was him. It was Byron. I was freaking out. My heart beat became faster. I was in his arms once again, I felt his heart beat. What kind of fucked up fate was happening to me? I couldn't breathe. It felt like I was being strangled. I was grasping for air. It was fucking difficult to breathe like I was having a goddamn panic attack. I found myself on the floor sobbing and I couldn't explain why. The saying 'Man plans, God laughs’ was so true. For years I had tried my possible best to escape this day, to avoid seeing him ever again but look how it all turned out. He found me. Or I found him because I wasn't so sure anymore. I needed to leave. Puerto Rico wasn't save for my fragile heart anymore.

Immediately, I got up and started packing our things not caring if they were dirty or clean. I dumped everything into the box.

"Are we leaving, mommy?" Delanie asked, waking up from sleep.

"Yes, baby. It's time to go back home. Don't you miss home?"
