Chapter 13: Concept & first fight

[Wan Shi Tong's Library]

[Third POV]

After discoverng the true potential his power Solon decided to search inside the library for anything usefull to use in a fight. However his curiosity, led him to read any book that attracted his interest.

The activity of reading a couple thousand books evolved to him reading until he got bored of it. This library was perfect for his chaotic mind since he could look around and find a book about almost everything. What should have been a month of reading got extended to six months of non-stop thinking, reading, analysing and experimenting with his powers.

During this time, the information he got through his powers proved to be extremely valuable since he was able to obtain information about things that even the library didn't possess. Gravity was one of them and it has become one of the easiest ways to use his powers to train his body and control.

'Everything must end in order for it to have value. Isn't that right, Chronos?' Solon thought as he looked at the huge library that he came to love.

"Thank you for letting me stay so long." He said loudly, but no one answered him.

After saying goodbye to his host he turned around and left heading to the water lion-turtle.

'Once I am able to use water with my powers, I will be able to travel through the sea. Even if I can fly through the use of gravity, the lack of information about this force makes it impossible to travel large distances since I won't be able to handle the information from it, even if I have the energy.' Solon thought unaware that the energy one needed to spend to travel like that, would be way too much for anyone other than beings of his level.

[Wan Shi Tong POV]

I have met thousands of spirits during my long life.

'But he is the only one that understands the value of this knowledge.' I thought as I saw Solon leave. He was one of the small number of beings I have come to respect.

'He will never know that though.' I think to myself as I head inside once again and start reading a book that piqued my interest.

[Third POV]

Sollon was walking in the middle of the desert unaware of two beings following him.

"I should really hurry and reach the next lion-turtle, I want to learn how to control water. It could be extremely useful in a lot of situations."

As Solon speaks to himself he sees something moving towards him in high speed through his Peripheral vision, he immediately turns around and sees a Buzzard wasp ready to grab him with it's legs.

'Too close.' he thought panicked at the sudden attack. A moment later a new figure appeared and headbutted the wasp stopping the attack.

Solon looked at the new creature and saw the Jackalolpe he had healed before had stuck the wasp with it's horns.

"Hey there little buddy. Why are you here?" he asked it as he helped remove it's horns from the fresh corpse.

The jackalope signaled with it's small hands.

"You want to follow me? Ok climb on, we must leave immediately, these wasps usually hunt in packs." He said to his new friend as he picked him up and strted running away from the corpse.

*Buzz* X5

"I should thank my lucky stars there are only 5 of them. Hold on buddy." He said as he opened his feet slightly, put his left foot a little bit forward, raised his still opened palms in front of his face and got ready to fight.

The wasps ignoring Solon's moves directly rushed at him aiming to stab him with their beak.

Solon seeing that, sidestepped avoiding the Wasps and shot an air bullet towards the enemy closer to him.

The wasp got hit by the bullet, which left it confused as it saw nothing hitting it.

This confusion allowed Solon, who ignored the new information he got due to his powers, to rush to the wasp as the other ones also started to fly towards him.

Solon, puched the wasp in the exposed neck with all his power.

*Crack*

A discusting crack was heard from the wasps neck as it collapsed to the floor dead due to the force it was struck with.

Solon immediately turned around and saw the rest of the wasps rushing at him.

'What if I use gravity to make them crash to the ground?' he thought as he tried to act upon this idea.

*Sqwelp*

Solon's distraction from the fight led to him being stabbed through the stomach by a wasp's stinger.

'Ok, no excessive thinking during a fight.' he noted to himself as he grabbed the wasp by the wings and threw it to one of it's friends. This action led to the wings getting torn from the wasp, which started writhing in agony.

After dodging another attack from a wasp, Solon tried to attack once again which failed due to the third wasp attacking him forcing him to block with a wall of sand.

'Tch, all this information gone to waste because I don't have time to comprehend it.' he thought with annoyance which evolved to anger as the wasps continued attacking him.

"I am losing precious data due to your attacks, stay still!" he screamed at them as a small amount of energy left him.

What he didn't expect however fot them to really stop mid-air.

'What happened? Why did they stop?' he thought to himself.

'They didn't stop, they are just frozen.' he observed after a while. After realising the truth his head was immediately filled with a colossal amount of information was forcefully stuffed inside his head, which lead to him collapsing.

'Crap I have to finish them before I fall unconsious.' He thought as he tried to force his body to move with no success. After a minute of trying he remembered that he was not alone.

"Hey buddy, could you go over there and stab those wasps with your horns like you did before?" he asked allowed as the Jackalope nodded it's head, jumped to the ground and stabbed the wasps with it's horns.

Seeing that he was finally safe, Solon went unconsious.

[Solon POV]

I was walking in complete darkness, thinking about my first fight.

'The way I fought was extremely risky. I shouldn't think too much during a fight, the way I used my powers so far have been extremely limited to manipulating the world around me. However it has been proven that I can also control other beings through it. My concept is extremely complicated. It gets stronger the more knowledge I have, it provides me knowledge, it allows my mind to work faster and better the more knowledge I have. The only common thing the different effects have is the acquisition of knowledge.' he thought to himself.

After about a second he immediately stopped in his tracks.

"The concept I represent is knowledge, isn't it?"
