Chapter 30

[Third POV]

The next day during noon Solon headed towards the town hall. After walking through the town he got a chance to admire the struggle humanity went through to create this small village.

Thousands upon thousands of years, lead to the creation of some small villages outside the protection of the lion-turtles.

Once he reached the town hall, Solon walked directly to the person in charge of keeping order and passed him the scroll Rasa gave him.

"Alright, are you able to earthbend or do I have to find you a different position?" He asked after looking through the scroll.

"I am able to earthbend." Solon answered honestly.

"Very well, you can start helping by creating basic foundations in the land highlighted in this map." He passed Solon a worn out map filled with information in the form of different notes surrounding a highlighted area covering a total of 10 thousand square meters.

"All specifications are noted on there. You have to build a total of 30 complete houses. However you only have to care about the outward part. Once you create the walls and ceiling you can move on." He continued.

Once Solon obtained the map he quickly walked towards the designated area and looked around while making some calculations in his mind.

'It should be right around here.' He thought as he started earthbending.

As he moved a large amount of earth from the ground to form a basic foundation for the first building.

After observing for a while and using his powers to analyze the size he nodded to himself and started creating foundations for the rest of the houses.

It took him a total of 10 hours to complete the basic foundation for the buildings and that is due to his immense chi reserves and the complete control he possesses over the earth.

'I wonder why Terra allows me to control the 4 basic elements. Don't they belong under her concept?' He throught out of nowhere.

After shaking his head to clean it from random and chaotic thoughts, he immediately went back to planning how to build the houses.

"I suppose a simple and similar design is the best course of action, they didn't ask for any kind of luxury after all." He mumbled to himself as he once again looked throught his memories to review the scroll given to him.

After making sure that he got all the specifications right, he started to move once again, using his earthbending to split the area into 31 equal parts. 30 of them for the houses, while the last one passed by each and everyone of the others which was supposed to become the road.

'This is perfect. Now I just have to complete the houses.' Solon thought after seeing the, now divided, earth.

'I think this is enough for today. I should continue tomorrow.' He thought while looking at the sky full of stars.

[Solon POV]

Building the house wasn't a difficult job. For me that is, for any human that didn't have good control over his chi it could be exhausting.

That explains why it was so cheap to obtain this piece of land, the payment should require at least a month of work, while I could finish in a single day. That and the fact that they urgently needed help with the construction.

That said, creating houses was amusing. It allowed me to observe what humans consider basic needs. It was intriguing to say the least, such a weird race, filled with potential to match the spirits in power and intelligence but limited by a lifespan they couldn't go against.

The fact that they needed to sustain themselves by eating, drinking water and sleeping was another negative point that limited them. Why are they limited as such? That is a question I don't have an answer for. For now.

The tea shop is a good way to observe how they interact with the world around them. It could give me vital information about their bodies and mind, information that although I could get from the record, I needed to observe firsthand in order to make a satisfactory conclusion.

After reaching the shop I sat on my stone bed in silence as I meditated. Meditation couldn't actually bring me any substantial benefit. What it could do was help me empty my mind. It was a way for me to connect with the spirit world while I was in the human world. Successfully bringing me in a complete void of thought.

It was the only way for my mind to relax, it obtained huge amounts of information from my surroundings all the time my constantly scanning my surroundings passively, so the only way for me to relax was to move my mind into a void where there is nothing to scan.

It was a sad reality, for me at least. My siblings had the power to completely control the fundamental laws of the universe as well as all the minor laws attached to them, as well as the basic elements. While all I got was the ability to control every single law in existence like it was a basic element, and the ability to passively burden my mind with infinite knowledge and information.

It was something I took note of during Zoi's change of my shop. All this time I thought that I could just use all the power in the world carelessly as long as I possessed the necessary chi. However during that simple moment my power instinctively warned me that I wouldn't be able to copy such advanced application of the life law. Creating life out of stones was impossible for me.

However I got the chance to go throught my memories once again and study my siblings.

Chronos always appeared in the right time for everything and a small tremble in the fabric of time follows him everywhere.

Aether appears out of knowhere with no fluctuation whatsoever and knows way too much things as if he is everywhere at the same time even thought he is forgetful.

Zoi always brings life to the world around her as she flies around, making plants grow and creatures heal.

Thanatos stays as far away of life as he possibly can and once he gets close to something, that something withers away and dies.

Lastly, Raava and Vaatu. I haven't got to talk to them during my 100 years in the forest of time. Apparently the stay at the human world all the time but I am 100% sure that their aura would have a similar effect on their surroundings.

This has led me to believe that concept-level spirits are more that just regulators for their concept. However this assumption needs more experimentation.
