CHAPTER #4:- CONTRACT

It's been two days since that last game and I still can't get it out of my damn mind, I gotta do something about it... maybe I should pay kozlov a visit? Wait No! that's not a good thing that guy is so unusual and weird also he kind of used me to win and tricked me into thinking he was a nice and poor fella..but to be honest...I really want to watch him play more games,the way he stays calm and doesn't let his emotions take over his persona is amazing.

I think I should just go home since it's already late no one's gonna come for a registration now.

"Hey Ortwin wait, we gotta discuss something"

"Huh? Did I do something wrong?"

It was Amelia, she's like a manager in this organization she makes sure that everyone is working properly and our players are not facing any kind of inconvinence.

"I received a complaint from Hudson that despite being the registration staff you interfered in the previous game of deceptive hands, is that correct?"

Damnnit that guy! what is his problem!?

"Uhh yeah I was in the room... but I didn't do anything! I was just watching them"

"Is that so? Why is that?"

"I..I just got bored and... Wanted to have a change of things"

"I see..you know I have an offer for you,right now there's an empty space for an overseer, do you want to chime in?"

Is Amelia really giving such an offer! But there's gotta be a catch! She is not that generous..

"I mean yeah I would love to join and become an overseer but there's a catch isn't?"

"Oh Ortwin you know me too well but don't worry that catch is pretty simple you just have to win a game!"

"What?! Dont say such things I am not-"

"Don't worry silly it's not you who's going to play you will just be involved the one who is actually going to play is your contracted player"

"Contracted player..?"

"Yeah contracted player,I think you are not aware but most of the overseers have an contracted player for themselves and when two overseers or any high rank official want a new title or want to takeover someone's position they play against each other with the help of their contracted player if the contracted player wins the respective overseer or the offcial will win too though I must make you aware that it's totally upto the players if they want to accept your proposed contract or not and even if you have a contract with them they might refuse to corporate with you"

A contracted player....if I get to be an overseer I might be able to see more games and may be even overthrow Hudson! but is their anyone else I know except Kozlov...? Or will he even agree to these terms...? IS IT A GOOD IDEA TO BE INVOLVED IN IT?

"I am in Amelia but I have some conditions"

"Oh so quickly! Fire away your conditions"

"Well firstly we will have a completely unbias overseer for that particular game who will not help either of the players, me and you will watch the game from afar, lasly the game will be totally random so that none of them can get an upper hand before the start of the game"

"Well that's pretty obvious conditions Ortwin, honestly I expected something harsher okay as you say, Savić!"

Savić, is an overseer who usually lazes off and for some reason the games that guy finds are out of pocket.

"Yeah Amelia you needed something?", As usual his voice is so aloof and he looks like he just woke up from a nap.

"Savić I would like you to find a game which will be contracted, it will be played against my contracted player and Ortwin's contracted player, you are going oversee it so please make sure the environment of the game is maintained"

Savić just nodded and went down the hallway, that guy surely doesn't disobeys Amelia's words.

"So Ortwin I will see you and your contracted player soon, if you win you will be promoted to an overseer but if you lose you will be KICKED OUT OF MANNEQUIN"

"WHAT?! YOU DIDN'T SAY THAT!"

"Yeah so what? At the end of the day it's a competition isn't? If you are rewarded when you win the you shall be snatched away if you LOSE"

With that Amelia went away leaving me with a thousand of thoughts...

Damnnit! If I lose its over!! and I haven't even contracted with Kozlov yet...oh my what is going to happen...?

Did I make a good decision..? Or am I stepping in a world which will gradually consume me....?
