After Kaden's heroic words, Storm straightened and turned, putting her back against the door, her stormy eyes making him wild with wanting.
"You know I'm grateful for what you did for me, earlier at the bar drinking room. Thank you for saving me." She mentioned, deciding to express her thankfulness and curb her stubbornness for the now. If he hadn't covered her with his body, perhaps, she would have been hurt, either by the gun or shattered glasses.
"Aye, and your undying gratitude is what I live for." Kaden said, his eyes never leaving hers.
"Really?" She looked him up and down with a hint of a smile.
"Sure it is." He heard the amusement in his tone, but he couldn't keep it out.
Storm's brows moved upward, her smoke-colored eyes looking straight into his heart. He had to wonder what she saw there.
Kaden had pictured her as a submissive little human-shy and scared, before he'd met her today; for he had known about her living conditions with her step mother, and that she was coming to the bar today, and so, had sent Tim on an errand earlier, so that the coast would be clear.
But what he saw in front of him now was a sensual, curvaceous female with eyes the color of brown smoke, who lifted her head and met his gaze without flinching. She didn't glance to the side or bow her head, as someone low in a pack should. It was as though Storm couldn't be bothered to remember she was supposed to be a submissive little female.
We should go," Kaden heard himself saying. "They'll be wondering what we're doing back here. You know how gossip flies around here."
"Rampant," Storm agreed.
So was Kaden, at the moment. He leaned down and nipped her cheek. "I'll walk you home."
"That's sweet, but I don't think Mirianda would appreciate you walking me home. She's plenty scary. I'll be fine." Storm replied, not ready for another bout with her step sister. She wouldn't tempt her hungry stomach that way. Teasing her sister with her latest alliance with the new hot neighbor can wait for another day.
"Who is Mirianda?" Kaden asked, furrowing his eyebrows. The name didn't sound familiar.
"My step sister." Storm replied, her nose twitching at the mention.
"I see. But tonight, with people running about shooting up places, I will go with you. Don't worry about your step sister. I will take care of her if we should see her." Kaden stated, refusing to back down from his request because of some ugly bimbo.
Storm squarely met his gaze. She always did that, making it clear that she knew that Kaden was dominant to her but she didn't give a damn. Her mouth softened into a smile. "What an offer. A walk with something that worships ass."
Her teasing made him want to pin her against the door and nip her until she couldn't speak while laughing.
"A little humor, as inventive as ever," he said, exaggerating his Irish lilt. "I'd offer you a head job , but I don't want to soil my dignity."
"Not an entire bath? Stingy." She soughed, pouting her lips.
He leaned toward her again, heart pounding. "If I were to offer you a head job, that's not the type I'd be thinking of."
Her answering smile fanned the fires all through Kaden's body. "Good answer, Big man. There's hope for you yet." She turned the knob behind her, and Kaden forced himself to let her go.

Kaden did walk home with Storm, after leaving some instructions for Lent in the bar about the event attacks that had assaulted their customers.
Walking with her had pumped his ego until a girl had come running and called out to his mate, who, sighting the girl, had left his side without hesitating even for a moment. Turns out the girl was an old classmate of hers, who occupied another house on the same street.
He let the two females stride ahead, the pair of them talking like they hadn't seen each other in days. The bloody girls stayed on the same street houses opposite each other; you'd think they'd have had enough time to talk about shoes and things without having to go on and on about them now.
Mostly, Kaden walked behind them so he could watch Storm's sexy rear end sway beneath her jacket. The feeling of it rubbing against him in Liam's office still tingled across his crotch, guaranteeing it would be another sleepless night.
He was trying to go slowly with Storm, knowing that she was still worried and uncertain after what that bastard in her old school, Curtis, had done to her.
He had found out by chance.
The guy had worked part time in one of his companies as an assistant. And one time when he had been hurrying along the lobby to attend a certain business meeting, he had overheard the idiot bragging about the last girl he had slept with, Storm. He had fired the guy the next day.
Apart from that, her dilemma with her step mother and siblings was recently getting out of hand. He was still thinking of how to get her out of the environment without her thinking that he was just taking pity on her. He knew that she wouldn't like to be seen as a charity case. A plan was already forming in his mind.
Her nightmares were also disturbing. He had already sent a message across to one of his old friends about the situation. Two weeks at most, and he would get a reply.
But till then, slow and steady. He had to ease her into accepting him even though she finds out about his real identity in the near future.
At first, he had thought to ignore her when he had found out that she lived in Shappy town so that she wouldn't get entangled in his complicated life since she was a human. But his plan had failed, especially now that he had her near. His wanting for the female was driving him insane.
